There is a very good possibility that the 480 wont have the full 512 shaders, been rumors flying around forever and i read in a recent article, that when nvidia was flat out asked they said they wont disclose that.

If it has less than the full 512 we would all be fools to buy one, in a few months 6 tops they will have the newer better full 512 ones out.

And after seeing a cherry picked benchmark that shows the 480 is equal to the 5870 for all intents and purposes as far as gaming goes, i am starting to lose faith.

Tesselation means squat diddly for games, maybe in a few years it will be heavily used but its a moot point right now. And all i ever hear nvidia talk about is, bloody tesselation, must be the only good thing about the card ;(

I hate to say it i really do since i am an nvidia fan and i will probably buy 2 gtx 480's but the performance is way way lackluster, look closely at the benchmark, in spots the 5870 beats it albeit by a hair, now some ppl might be saying BUT BUT the tesselation, yah yah, but what a little bit of googling will tell u, is that tesselation is not expected to be used much if at all in alot of games. And on top of that, they also picked the benchmark that best suits the 480 and it still gets beat a bit by the 5870 in spots.

Sort of pathetic if u ask me, do u guys remember when the 200 sereies launched and everyone though ATI had no chance, but then the 4800s came out and the performance was very close to the 200s, was kinda funny cause nvidia had to drop prices by like 200 bux over night lol.

And that is their only option now, they need to price it competitively with the 5800s, i dont think the vast majority of ppl are gonna get suckered into paying 700 bux for a card that isnt any faster except in tesselation, which is in no games.......now if you use your card for other things besides gaming, then the 480 is a very very good choice, but for the masses.....they better be around 500

To each their own but IMO hes right its nothing spectacular, personally i didnt even think the graphics were anything special, it looks like Quake4 had a red headed illegitimate child with FarCry and yes i play it at max settings. BUT ppl are entitled to **** their pants over it if they like it, all shooters are pretty much the same.

Its still too early to be bashin DX10, as there are no REAL dx10 games, all games that claim to be are more like ports, with tiny pathetic "enhancements" nothing has been designed ground up for dx10 YET.

Having said that, everything so far has been a joke of low frame rates and barely any noticeable improvements

Game has alot of promise, and is alot of fun, there are some bugs in it, namely i think there is a memory leak somewhere, after 2 hours or so of play it **** its pants, the engine can seriously be improved upon.

I found all the NPC chatter's Sexual ineundo annoying and dorky, Every NPC is either hawrny for you or is mental...wtf.... gets on my nerves.
