Neverwinter Nights is the perfect example; the Witcher as well [though less specifically].

Gotta say that Fallout 3 would be the logical choice; setting aside Call of Pripyat that is. If you want more STALKER, than COP is the way to go. Otherwise Condemned [for horror], System Shock [for action and role-play alike] or Dead Space [If you're in the mood for a more action oriented horror game].
I think it was STALKER, when I was at the "abandoned" farm at midnight, trying to find my way back to the Duty Camp; when I saw this invisible shape move across the screen outside of the house I had wondered into. Shortly after, the boarded windows started cracking, and these horrific wails came screeching from everywhere. I tried to escape at the top of the lighthouse, but they followed me...shortly thereafter I became their next meal. RIP Marked One.
Another was in Oblivion using the "StarX Vampires mod" + the dark-dungeons add-on. So terrifying. They all want your blood and I had run out of torches. So freaky.
Wesker, he's pretty bad and yes he's evil but still he's got this dark appeal.
As protagonists go, Jill - she's more human, and I like her outfits. Playing as her makes one feel more vulnerable.
I'm not sure if anyone remembers a quite renowned site called "VGPRO" specifically for user reviews and content ETC, yet it's been down due to hackers for over two years now. Thought I might just go ahead and ask if anyone has any news on it's rebuild-status, or if it's dead forever?

I would like to recommend myself - SirMordredX; as a long-time reviewer, I believe my reviews have a much better sense of both professionalism and completion than most all others [My early reviews are not on the same level, seeing as they were meant to be mini-reviews, as opposed to full].
My STALKER review can be found HERE...
My Just Cause 2 PC review can be found HERE...
And my more "stylized" Kane and Lynch: Dead Men [PC] review can be found HERE...

Yeah, I think about it a lot - sure we see games like Castlevania have vampires, but that's not really a vampire-game - they're more or less just more monsters to be slayed as opposed to terrors of the night. We need a new Vampire Bloodlines. Simple as that - or at least an open-world vampire-role-playing game that takes players from living a normal life to getting caught up in a world dominated by vampires.
@metroidprime55 Good idea, something like that is what we need - something more film-noir in atmosphere, that demonstrates the terror behind the idea of the vampire.
Probably Far Cry 2; I appreciated the effort, but it just turned out to be another excuse for a killing-fest.
