@thejash07:The problem is it's just maronic knee jerking as usual. I use the word a LOT (in private only so not to offend) as I'm not racist and I don't hate black people but it happens to be a very frequently used word in black culture. Chris Rock (comedian) used it a lot, Dave chapelle used it now and again, rappers use it all the time. If the word is frequently being used people will use it and I happen to find the word funny to be honest, I don't use it to intimidate or hurt people in public but I can imagine myself in a relaxed gaming scenario such as this shooting off the word by mistake when others may be watching. The idea of people getting ridiculously butt hurt would be a damn shame but to be fair I respect pewdipie has had previous issues so I can understand why people are gravitating on him. He is potentially a racist so deserves to be called out but one little use of the word without particular intent to offend or harm someone is still very different to real offensive racism.

@Jerubedo: Market could be for people who want a good gaming monitor (i.e. freesync / gsync) but recognise the overcharging of the gsync monitors? As an overall build you'd still get an AMD system with a freesync monitor for a decent bit lower than a gsync monitor. I'm from the UK and there was a deal on overclockers UK to get £100 off of an LG ultra wide freesync for £380 with IPS, nothing with gsync would come close to that price.

Gamers who are smart enough to consider the whole system can find a good reason for AMD stuff and people who know how AMD works (usually they improve on drivers and performance over time and never come out of the gate stronger than Nvidia but over time there cards edge out Nvidia) can find a card that is more likely to have longer support and end up better and still have a cheaper over all system. I'd think there's a market for that! Did I mention 144hz too?

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/epic-deal-from-lg-34-144hz-freesync-with-100-discount-code.18787589/

find me an equivalent gsync monitor for anywhere near that price. Suddenly the card alone becomes an obtuse thing when the entire system is cheaper with AMD.

@hellnawafflecar: I played it, I played it a lot but the 'moneys worth' depends on if you mean quality or time spent. I can replay any game infinite times but the quality of this game wasn't worth the money. Diablo 3 was a huge disappointment for me as I loved Diablo 2 and I wasn't even the sort of hardcore Diablo 2 PVP typer. D3 really was a sad effort with a good update to the speed of the gameplay and lacking design choices everywhere else. Moved onto Path of Exile a while back, keep flicking back to the D3 website just to look at any interesting news and there is nothing worth while.

The only thing I'll do is play around on the game guide skill calculator if they even seem to bother to get as far as putting it up on there. Path of exile added 6 acts whereas D3 adds a single class so I know which will get me most excited based on being able to play proper new content. I used to play D3 quite a bit too but it's just lacking in frequent development compared to games like path of exile and even when I bought Reaper of souls it didn't really feel like there was enough there with the ever changing shallow patches that just made one or 2 unique sets the OP obvious choice.

Can't believe they are charging for such a small update too. Blizzard really are knickle and diming this one.

Well if they can't even throw out games that have good reviews and the potential to sell (still waiting on that Bravely Default Square) then of course they'll not make huge money. Making games and then not even bothering to release them eslewhere and reap the rewards for a bit of localisation is stupid. Looking at the other topic with the games selling 3.4m and 3.6m (1.75 for a new IP too) seems like they have huge expectations and poor budget management. They take too long to make there games and then expect 5m sales off the bat. I like Square Enix but they are taking too long to release games and not managing there money right somehow.

And how dumb can they be to throw away good opportunities? FF7 put on PC? How about we tack on achievements and that's it, you know, not give anyone a real reason to buy it again and not do any remake of this game we know would sell loads.

This is what I don't understand, what was there expectations? I know games sell most of the titles they will sell in the first month but even so, this doesn't include digital sales (which can account for a lot on PC) and it's still only the first month.

What really irks me about this sort of sentiment over good sales numbers is that they clearly are not ready for next gen budgets. I mean when the PS4 and next xbox come rolling around and developers are having to sink money into even more expensive titles and there's even less people buying games (initially, since consoles need to sell before they have a big audience) then how will they manage there expectations? Will 5 mil first month be bad? Will 4m first month be putting them out of business?

@Dugular Can you clarify why rather than just create a dull post that blatantly tries to turn the epically uneventful change your life into something you want people to take more seriously than they should?

Like you said about people taking things too seriously, it's the exact same here. Currently I wouldn't have nominated Halo 4 even but different people like different games and Halo ultimately is a big narrative with a developing world, if you're after a long running FPS series with a decent (even if not great) plot then where do you turn? The random missions of uncharted? The new Borderlands where we are yet again vault hunters and will eventually get to the vault after shooting a lot of things (it's epic fun but it's not story based)? Farcry 3 / Max payne 3, not even going to bother with them story wise. I keep seeing gamers pretending they want story but then when there's a long running story based FPS people just want the next COD / Uncharted / MP3 / BF 3 / whatever. If you like story based shooters there's not really many great ones, even Half-life sucked for story and was mostly just aliens popping out of a portal after a botched experiment and then a little crazy twist with wondering what g-man was doing.

I can't fault gamespot for going for a game unless there was no reason it should win yet it's pretty clear there's not really any well developed and long running series that can match halo on plot (that are FPS I mean) so maybe it got best shooter for that? Maybe it got it for being the Halo many gamers love but finally making that change people wanted so much, plenty of idiots sit on the sidelines complaining about Halo for next to anything (probably just dislike it for it's popularity) but it seems to do next to everything right (except it's plots could be a bit stronger on the delivery since they have a good premise) with varied weapons, good combat, fun vehicles, new gameplay elements being added (equipment in Halo 3 and armour abilities in Halo reach), changing up the enemy etc. You can have several games like Uncharted or COD have complaint about enemy types even if Halo was more varied from the start but then Halo changed from having flood, covenant and sentinels to adding forerunner stuff too. Halo is a pretty well designed series, it's consistently done new stuff near every game and done a lot more to change than many other series and the new titles are now giving us potential for different and more fresh enemies, armour abilities etc. and people are just on the verge of repeating themselves that it's stale. You know like when reach added the space flight mission and armour abilities it was somehow stale, when this does the same and then throws a load of new weapons and enemy at us too it's stale again. People aren't even judging Halo for Halo anymore, it's for there own dumb pre-judgements.

@InquisitorCrox Please develop a more informed opinion than just ranting about a game you're not into being for younger people and everyone being on a company with moneys pay roll. It doesn't sound like some blatant bias with a childish agenda at all. I'm here to say I love Halo and have every Halo game but even I am not blind to it, I wouldn't have even nominated Halo 4 myself and I'd have given Borderlands 2 the prize but even so Halo wasn't that bad and your opinion is about as well formed as sandwhich that just got chucked into a currently flying helicopters rotor blades.

Seriously, everyone is on MS payroll or american fanboys blah blah blah, ever thought it could just be popular and you don't like it precisely because you're after something else in a shooter?

@constantterror Welcome to the modern world, your opinion is trash and you mock others for having trash opinions in your views. Maybe sounding less like an idiot with a poor opinion would help your argument but overall I'm sure next to anyone who read your post was standing on the side lines thinking your comments of 12 year olds and using a $ sign for MS while purporting conformist / populist opinions of halo not being as good as the old ones think you have the biggest brain they have ever seen and want to here more of what your intelligent and articulate self can come up with.
