Holy hell, this entire forum only has one thread. I've never seen such a tiny community for a game. My friend bought this because he thought we could system link it, but he says that it isn't supported. Is this true?

The problem is worse than ever now. I got online to download the dashboard update and halfway through it kicked me off saying that I didn't have a connection which is, as are all of my problems, completely 100% impossible. Now I can't get online at all, no matter what I do.

I've tried all the suggestions and nothing has worked. Ipconfig says that I have "IP routing disabled," but the guides I've found require messing with the registry and I don't know if I should do this. I've never heard of this thing before and I don't know if it's related.

Holy crap, you bumped it exactly 24 hours after your last post.balfe1990

36 hours, but yeah, that's pretty weird. :P

I changed my settings and LIVE works regularly, but it ALWAYS requires that I restart my computer, even if I have everything plugged in before I turn it on.

I only need to do this for the plugged in settings, right? Do you have any idea why my connection drops when I plug the computer in?

Go into your powersave settings (on laptop) and set it to "always full power, never turn off hard drive."LazySloth718

I'm having a hard time trying to find a setting like this. My computer has Windows 7 and I'm not very used to it. I have it set to run differently depending on whether it's plugged in or not, wherein it doesn't sleep or hibernate when it's plugged in and the screen shuts off quickly and all of that when it's idle and unplugged.

The weird thing is that it shouldbe running better when it's charging, but just today when I turned it on I forgot to plug it in, internet worked just fine, realized that it was unplugged, plugged it in, and got disconnected like before.

I meant which section should I be taking that information from? CMD shows information forethernet adapter network bridge, ethernet adapter local area connection 2, wireless LAN adapter wireless network connection 1-3, ethernet adapter bluetooth network connection, a bunch of things called tunnel adapter isatap, and tunnel adapter teredo tunneling pseudo-interface.

Also, I believe there's a wider range of ports that need to be forwarded than just UDP 88. Someone listed them on this thread, but a simple Google search will also pull them up.sixgears2

Obviously. I was just doing that one first.

What IP address should I be using for my Xbox then? I know earlier you wanted me to write down all my information from ipconfig/all, but you didn't say which settings I needed.

My router's IP address is 172.16.0.1. This is the information as I'm trying to enter it:

Service Name: Xbox LIVE

Service Type: UDP

Starting Port: 88

Ending Port: 88

Server IP Address: 172.16.0

I keep getting an "invalid IP address" error. In the portforwarding.com guide I found, the last digit is blank as well.

I'm somewhat familiar with port forwarding, but I haven't messed with it since I first tried setting up Xbox LIVE. I've never had to mess with them before and I'm a little unsure of how to proceed. This is how my router's page looks:

Service Name:

Service Type:

Starting Port:

Ending Port:

Server IP Address:

I'm not entirely sure if I should put the same port (I started with 88 first) as both the starting and ending port. I'm mostly unsure what IP address to use, though.
