I'd rather have trophies back. They could even reuse a bunch from Sm4sh, I don't care. I was really looking forward to neat trophies of Breath of the Wild characters, only to have my hopes dashed upon the rocks.
@gamingdevil800: I mean, you don't HAVE to, it just really wants you to. I just prefer having my character's backstory be completely up to me (as in NV, and the Elder Scrolls games), not part of a pre-written narrative.
@Richardthe3rd: Yeah. Like...I can't muster even a little excitement for 76, and I rank Fallout 3 and New Vegas as some of my favorite games ever. It makes me sad, but it also might be a blessing considering my stunningly large backlog of games and TV shows.
@ronthallsballs: Have you noticed how which factions you help actually does impact the story as opposed to just changing dialog options? Or done any of the DLC? Because Lonesome Road might just be the best expansion for any game I've ever played, ever. The story is just better told in New Vegas, and it feels more like an actual role playing game because your choices really do alter the game's story a LOT.
The writing in NV is just vastly superior to 3 or 4's writing. The dialog choices are better written (with more than just YES/NO/MAYBE/SARCASM as options) and I actually enjoyed going through all the dialog trees to see all the options (and I actually could SEE them, compared to 4's atrocious dialog menu system that I had to use 3 mods to make even remotely acceptable).
Also, instead of being railroaded on the main quest you're more free to actually role play. Sure, you CAN go for revenge on Benny for shooting you, or you can ignore that altogether while still completing the main quest. In 3 or 4, however, the game wants to force you to be the dutiful son or anxious father, respectively.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed 3 and 4 a lot. It's just that they're 8/10 games to me whereas New Vegas is a 10/10.
I'm still waiting for ANY open-world RPG to contend with New Vegas.
76 seems determined to make me not interested in playing it, though. Literally every new bit of information about the game says "Don't play me" to me. YMMV, but I think I'll stick with modding Fallout 4 or maybe do another New Vegas run instead.
It would have been 2 hours of him standing around looking cool while everyone else did all the work for him like he did in Empire Strikes Back, anyway.
My interest in this game was already nearly zero, and I didn't expect it to have mods online, but it's nice having confirmation that it will even have them.
Probably Creation Club only, though, which still means I'm probably not buying this game unless it's on one hell of a sale.
I just want the Japanese voices option that the PSP version had (because let's be honest the original dub was awful). Give me that and I'll buy it Day 1.
