There are rumors epic will release GeoW 3 multiplat. I also read rumors that GeoW 1 and 2 will eventually come to ps3 around 2009. As of right now though. they have a contractual agreement with MS for at least temporary 360 exclusivity. Certainly though ,epic doesn't hate the ps3. Mark Rein said a lot of good things about it when they were developing UT3 for us.
What I'm wondering, is why you would make a 3 part post about selling your ps3? If you were going to sell it regardless, then there was no need to keep wasting everyone's time with these useless threads.
Sony's business strategy is focused on the long term. They may not be making a profit on the hardware right now, but in a few years time, production costs will go down and they will stop losing money on each ps3 sold. In the meantime, they're already making a profit on ps2 and psp hardware and software, as well as building up a substantial userbase for the ps3 and making money off of the resulting game sales and liscencing fees. Furthermore, the ps3 indirectly brings in blu-ray revenue as sony collects royalties from the liscencing of it's blu-ray technology, considering the ps3 makes up the bulk of blu-ray players sold and keeps the format alfoat. They've technically always had this strategy of losing money on the hardware in the early years. I believe they initially lost money on ps2 hardware while selling loads of software.
For me, it's been ratchet and Clank Future and Heavenly Sword. I sort of put off buying Ratchet because I wanted to take a break from ratchet games for a while, having played several the previous generation lol, though I will pick it up eventually. As for heavenly sword, the length never really justified the price, so i'll probably wait till it's a greatest hit.
It would be rather ridiculous imo to have at least two games garner a perfect 10 and not give GOTY to either of them. Not to mention, while the rest of the year is filled with excellent titles, I'm not sure how many of them are actually ten worthy. Out of the two, my personal vote goes to MGS 4 as I and many people, including reviewers found it a truly excellent experience. However, it's really anyone's guess between them.
Both are great games. You will get a longer life out of GTA 4 as it has a longer story mode, albeit repetitive sometimes, and an very detailed online mode. However, I would say MGS 4, as it's one of those games that I feel should be played by everyone who can. It's phenomenal in many ways. If you need a course on the story, gametrailers.com has a great 6 Part Metal Gear Retrospective, which will thoroughly fill you on the story of the all the past games. Wikipedia is also an option lol.
