I'd say the new style. Not that I don't enjoy the old games of RE, but I want to feel intense without getting screwed in certain situations because I have no more ammo. martialbullet
Well learn how to conserve ammo instead of waste it. It is a survival horror game, not a action game. You lack the skills and patience, something that us true ganers have learned siince we grew up on games that you casuals would not last 1 second on without complaining that they need, auto aim, extra ammo, regenerative health or having their hand held throughout the game for them. GET BETTER AT IT!

WOW! I can't believe any of this. The old style of games were great but the tank like controls of them were awful. I hated the way you were supposed to control your characters. Everytime there was a camera angle change, the controls were thrown off for me. I guess I am the minority here, but I think RE 4 improved the series above and beyond!shabulia
Stop whining and learn to adapt instead of wimp out and give up. Just cuz you lack skills does not mean the old gaes are bad. It is YOU who is bad. The "tank" controls are extremely easy to adapt to. In fact, RE4 and RE5 have the EXACT control schemem as the old RE games.

You are not a fan until you play them all.

From my point of view, you don't have to play them all to become a fan of resident evil,if he enjoyed the storyline and gameplay in RE5 then he became a fan of the game, thus becoming a fan of resident evil.

Well as a hardcore fan since 1998 when the 1st 2 RE games were released, I don't consider anyone a RE fan unless they have at least played 1, 2, and 3. RE4 and RE5 are not even true RE games and saying that playing those two makes someone a fan would be a insult to the true fans that have been with the series when it still was survival horror.

I think you're argueing with the wrong guy here and you actually make a good point but as much as you don't want to hear it,RE4 and 5 are still part of the RE franchise. My first RE game was RE2 which is known as being the best game in the series but i just prefer RE4

You are not a RE fan if you prefer RE4 over RE2. I'm sorry, that is just not how it works. RE was built upon a survival horror formula. RE4 is just a mindless action game made to appeal to those that either sucked on RE or never played a RE. RE4 is not what a RE fan would call a true RE fan. If RE4 were a survival horror game with limited herb supplies, ink ribbons and ammo as well as having zombies, then sure, but RE4 is the weakest RE game. A great game, yes, but a horrible RE game.

RE2, and i was terrible at it, i'm not used to using the ink ribbons, i think that was a terrible ideakillerband55
The true RE games have never been easy on the noobs. As a hardcore RE fan, I like that limited Ink Ribbon feature and wish it were still used. It scares away the sucky players and casuals.

LOL When anyone says "RE4", when I ask them this question, I know that they are not true RE fans, just bandwaggoners. If RE4 was your first, fine, but don't ever call it the best, ESPECIALLY if you never played the older titles. The classics will always be and remain the best. By the way, RE2 was my first one I can say I played, since I did not get a PS1 until I 1998. I did play RE1 alot at my bro's house alot though, just never beat it until I got my own PS1 along with both RE1 and RE2.

I was kinda disappointed by this FF. I prefer my FF's turn based. I don't really like to see a Retro RPG series drastically change. I wish the core gameplay was unaltered. Otherwise it is still a good game, but it doesn't feel like the old ones.
