@wolfieboy13

because a game having a lasting community is more likely to happen if you feel like your favorite character has a shot no matter who that character happens to be.

@Outer_Raven @LonelyHippie27 I could see Sora fitting in nicely. Better than Snake actually.

The beauty of Melee laid in the concept of simplicity with depth. The more customization options when it comes to charactes you have the more I think you will see a loss of simplicity. We already have customization of what items can be available, what their frequency of appearance will be, tons of levels to choose from, tons of characters to choose from, etc. If you are allowed to customize characters (aside from looks I suppose) in move set, strengths and weaknesses, or perhaps starting weapons what's left that could possibly be considered simple?

I think the idea that is explored in this article is fundamentally flawed. I don't want an all in one device, and I don't think that is where the world is headed to be honest. We may have devices like the ipad that can do a lot of things, but even things that it's capable of doing like book reading, most agree that they would rather be doing so on a kindle/nook or heck an actual book.

Same deal with dvd and blu-ray players. It may be a nice touch that your gaming device can also do play movies, but if you take your machine over to a friends house you don't want to leave your family (provided you live with someone else, the bachelor life is another matter) unable to watch any of movies you may own.

Do I even need to get into how you really don't want your gaming machine to be your computer?

Didn't just happen with the wii. Happened with the DS vs the PSP too.

with no way to play the psp games you already have I must say that is more of a deal breaker than even the price. I mean who puts out a new iteration of something that can't play what the current versions do unless you pay for them again? This is the worst move Sony has made since they put the original PS3 out for $600.
