I suspect it'll be like 90% bad and like 10% good to give us ' hope' for the future
I think the law of diminishing returns is finally kicking in for Nintendo.
Everytime they're under some sort of pressure out come the Mario and promise of new Zelda.
looking forward to it.
seems written from the perspective of someone who gets to go there every year and has grown jaded from the experience. Most of us see it through a screen.
I for one will miss the big conference by Nintendo. Every at E3 it was the one time of the year where the industry could sparkle and go glamerous with it's over-the-top showcasing. That is part of the charm of it.
We don't get to get into the special private PR events where there is NDA in place, and we already - at least for us frequenters of the site - get the trailers and see the interviews whenever the developers come to your place or anywhere you end up interviewing.
I think this is a very bad move on Nintendo's part especially when it's right on the heels of the other two going to capitalize their spotlight time showcasing their new consoles, and possibly new IP's for those consoles. and unless Nintendo can direct the spotlight by the mainstream media onto it's platforms and what it's doing, it's going to lose mindshare and be very much left in the dust.
@mboettcher I did notice this song!
also picked up on God only knows. and i couldn't pin it down at the time but Fortunate Son and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun made me pause because i could sense the familiarity but couldn't get it down.
you guys at Square Enix announced this game before this generation began. this generation is about to end and it was one of longest ones in gaming history. 'overdue' news is not even the start of your issues....
if that were true, then these are awful marketing agencies.
But i don't think it is. I think they're going based on type of game and the demographics that play those games now and in recent years.
both Mass Effect 2 and 3 are lauded for having a great female lead option. and yet both times Bioware has revealed that only around 20% of the players chose female.
So i can't help but sometimes feel like this is not the majority speaking, but rather the minority that have been given the loudspeaker (video game review sites) and private access (media-only and public conventions) to get their wants and agenda across to the people that really matter in the industry.
A lot of this stuff isn't about being nice or mean to any specific demographic, or to peddle any specific sort of social-ideology. it's about what makes the most money. period.
As crass as that may sound.
really fantastic interview.
I get what he's saying.
I wouldn't mind it if Battlefield 4 dropped singleplayer. I very much feel that if your gonna do a singleplayer especially in the modern military first person shooter you should make it worth everyone's while, tell a good story, whether it's poignent/thought provoking, or just really entertaining. Do either both really well, do not play it safe.
Then again Battlefield is one of extremely few series i play specifically for it's multiplayer
