Just to reiterate what's already been said here: How much damn work probably goes into one game. I wouldn't exactly know but let me tell you I have tried making one myself on my own computer. Epic failure. I tried coding collision in a 2d game, couldn't even get that to work right. Tried using one of those fancy game maker tools, another fail. Imagine trying to do all the music, animation, artwork, design etc. yourself? Good luck with that one.

I was just pondering this point today. IMO, it might be possible, but odds are it won’t ever “really” happen.

If you grew up as a gamer, odds are you will continue to game. You may become more selective in what you buy. Or buy more retro games that you liked, or missed out on back in the day.

What are your opinions on this, forum folks??

I think you hit the nail on the head there. I play less games but am more selective and play more retro. Right now I'm playing Pokemon Yellow. Very nostalgic for this game.

Yeah, I've had it for a few years now. It seems like most games I play the processor is not even breaking a sweat. Albeit I only game at 1080p 60fps.

Current build:
Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 3060 12GB
32 GB DDR4-3200 RAM

Splinter Cell demo was pretty cool for its time and made the full game an instant buy for me, it was stunning how much you could do in that little portion of the game.

Only thing I recall about Tomb Raider 3 is that there was the mansion you could roam around in and that I couldn't beat the first level. Ah, good times.

I always thought it was ironic he's humanity's hero yet his closest love interest in the games is an AI.

Prior had a 720p HD, the jump to my new 4K UHD just isn't quite the SD to a HD screen some make it out to be. As such for me the image isn't a clear difference. 4K remains more pixels than the eye can notice, it's marketing buzz-wording for those who like to brag about more pixels. I can only assume how stupid a 8K display is.

Completely agree.

My main TV is a 75" 4K and while impressive, it wasn't quite the game changer SD to HD was.

Otherwise, I still game on a 1080p 60hz 27" computer monitor.

I'm excited but interested to know what the launch titles might be.
