I don't know about you, but Im kind of looking forward to LittleBigPlanet Karting. Playstation All Stars Battle Royale is interesting - could be fun, might not be. But I'm glad they're trying it out. Sly 4 should be good. Ni No Kuni looks amazing. The Ratchet and Clank Collection will be fun - 3 great games for one low price in HD. And thats just the retail titles. Considering that PS3 is entering it's 6th year available, there are still many games being made exclusively for it. And future wise Im seeing stuff like a new God Of War, The Last of Us, The Last Guardian and more. The PS3 game train may have slowed down, but there is still plenty to enjoy. And don't forget, still heaps of Move games and PSN releases.
A remake is different from a HD port, and as such can add more to the experience. So I'm up for that, especially if these are older titles which haven't seen a lot of play in years past. However, the only remakes I can think of are Resident Evil for the Gamecube and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, also for the Gamecube. Remaking a game is a lot more involved then throwing some HD textures or a widescreen option onto the title, and as such the quality and the consistency of such titles arising will always be inconsistent.
They didn't sell well and this was on the PS2 as well, which didn't have a popular network at the time. Trying to find players now would be pointless, and as you said, the servers are shut-down. You also mentioned Operation Raccoon City as a kind of spiritual successor to the title, and I concur. However, that game isn't all that good - and the Left 4 Dead games are. And they are popular and still have online servers running. Otherwise, Resident Evil 5 is playable as co-op, and there is Resident Evil 6 coming later this year.
There are certainly some great upcoming releases. Remember, the holiday sales can be crucial for publishers, and all the major yearly franchises will see a release like Mario, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and the like. So there's quite a few there. And even a few franchises are returning this year, such as Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, LittleBigPlanet Karting and possibly Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm. As for recent releases, I highly recommend checking out Civilization V: Gods and Kings and Quantum Conundrum. And for unique titles coming out this year (non-franchised), check out Playstation All Stars Battle Royale, The Secret World, Dishonored and more. While a few games have been pushed back to 2013, there is no shortage of games to come and look forward to.
In the completed game there is no way to access that area, even with a device like GameShark. Resident Evil 1.5 is a scrapped version of Resident Evil 2 and the game as it was released has no ties to it. No assets from 1.5 made it to the completed game so there is nothing there in any case. It's just an the limits of the explorable area.
One of my favourites will always be the Tex Murphy titles. My personal favourite was Under a Killing Moon, but they were all good. With the advent of Blu Ray and DVD, physical space will no longer be a concern for these titles, but you must also realise that the technology to run them is primitive in comparison to 3D worlds in games like Super Mario Galaxy and Call of Duty. That said, a recent successful Kickstarter campaign is seeing the return of Tex Murphy, and other similar games may take notice.
a PSP can be bought cheaply now, so you might as well go a new one. As for the DS, might as well upgrade to the 3DS. You'll be able to play your DS and 3DS games, though lose the ability to play GBA titles.
If they are the enemy, then so be it. Perhaps they are trying to be sensitive to U.S tastes. It is a french company making a canadian game which allows you to kill on both sides. Showing only one side seems a little like they are saving face - and they have spoken of this as keeping spoilers low.
