Personally, I would have preferred it on PC, but mainly because my monitor is better than my TV and I wanted to play GTA: O with my friends (who are either split between Xbox and PS3 versions and waiting for the PC version, or simply waiting for the PC version with more patience than I).

That said, the PC version won't come out for at least 6 months, and the game is damn amazing and worth playing now. It works perfectly on consoles, without any major issues that would normally arise from games that come out late in a generation (like Rockstar's own Bully on PS2, which very much stretched the PS2's limits), and it's good enough that I definitely see myself rebuying it in 6 months, especially since by then I'll have had an aching to go through the campaign again and would enjoy whatever additions they add, plus the chance to play with all my friends.

Plus, isn't that one of the main reasons we might own consoles? With a pricey gaming PC, you have most of your ground covered aside from the occasional game that refuses to work on your system, so if there's a game that is on consoles NOW and is truly amazing, it's not worth waiting if you already have the ability to play it and very much want to do so.

Just beat the game.

Gonna try and look for the collectables in the coming days.

Ultrabeatdown55

Cool checklist! Is it in game, or from a website that tracks your progress? I could use it for my own completion.

I would love to see a return to London. GTA's biggest strengths include cultural satire, and amazing cities with lots of great architecture, and London, England would provide the best of both while also being set outside the US.

Making fun of the Queen, the politics, the food and more would be great starting points, while the Houser brothers themselves are English (which would make it easier for them to think of things in their home culture to use).

As a bonus, there are a lot of British crime films and interesting areas/crimes that could offer some inspiration (such as Layer Cake and Snatch). Plus, it would be the first city that isn't named differently (like Los Santos instead of Los Angeles).

PC gamers are better off waiting for it. Console version would be unbearable for their standards.

I remember a PC gamer saying that he bought a 360 just for GTA 5, and he was disgusted by how terrible it looks and the terribly low resolution feels like his eyes are gone. Now he regrets the purchase.

I do agree with him though. Consoles are made for fools with low standards.

Lost-to-Apathy

Oh, yeah. This is why everyone hates PC gamers. Shit, I've been a PC gamer for like 15 years, and I'm starting to hate them, too. Not myself, of course.

Yeah, too many people are obsessed with graphics, but PC fanboys are pretty ridiculous about it. Complaining that a game looks slightly less pretty on a 720p resolution and 30fps because your computer that cost 5 times more can make it look prettier is just dumb. It's like spitting in the face of games that try to focus on gameplay or other features instead of pretty lighting and graphics, and is just flat out snobbish when you're talking about a massive game like GTA V that runs spectacular on 8 year old hardware.

As someone who mainly plays games on PC, usually around Very high- Ultra settings, I don't care if I can run a game at 1080p 60fps, I just care that it's a good game, or else I'd never touch amazing older games or indie games because of such elitism and a requirement for Crysis 3 level graphics.

[QUOTE="RCh9Jense"]Serious question: why doesn't Rockstar make this for PC?? I think Hermits deserve this game just as much.jessejay420
oh they will. PC Gamers will not be left out.

Yeah, Rockstar definitely has a PC version in the works, they just always release it on core consoles first. Hell, before GTA IV (and after the 2D era), they didn't even release it on all consoles, just PS2 first and then Xbox and PC.

Likely it's because it's much easier to focus on a couple of consoles without the logistics of a PC version and optimization for a PC version getting in the way, along with minor piracy fears that might impede sales, tradition, focus on their main fanbase, keeping resources to what they think is important (polish or content in place of a faster PC version), and finally if they wanted it to come out for all systems, they'd probably have to delay all versions since the PC version would probably hold them up more than anything.

Just my two cents.

You don't need to apologize for having a valid opinion, but it seems like blog material to me. At this point you'll mostly get people telling you to just blog it, or agreeing/disagreeing without a lot of insight or room for discussion.

You're just encouraging Rockstar to continue the terrible practice of abandoning the PC version for a few months.

Just forget the console version and wait for the real stuff, otherwise you're just harming the industry.

Toxic-Seahorse

Harming the industry? LOL If he's going to buy both versions, who the f*ck does he harm? Just people who get butthurt by a successful business practice.

Because other companies will start to do it too. maybe not harming the industry, but harming gamers.

I think anyone willing to say that me rebuying a game I really liked is "harming the industry" needs to get their head checked. I doubt any other company would want to do something like this in the hopes that people will double dip (and assuming that is Rockstar's main reason in the first place if farcical), while Rockstar's efforts are likely centered towards putting all their efforts into making the best game possible for their primary fanbase, while working on a stellar PC version that doesn't require them to delay all versions or put unnecessary resources towards it during development that would impede the overall quality of the game they're trying to deliver.

I already have it on PS3, and all the talk of "low performance" and "crappy graphical issues" sounds like hyperbole by people wanting to justify a wait based on my experience. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played, and for mods and friends, I'm buying it twice.

How long did it take after the release of GTA IV for a PC version to be announced? I remember the PC version trailer, but when did they officially announce it? I think it could give us a good timeframe for when a potential announcement might happen.

My money is on a release either 6 months after as usual (March), or slightly longer at around April-May (especially seeing how May is the month Rockstar usually releases games and they don't seem to have anything major planned for next May).
