@Jedilink109 The thing is, there is already a SimCity that is played like this, SimCity Social on Facebook.

I don't mind there being a MP option in the game, what I do mind is the fact that they just decided not to bother with what SimCity is essentially about, single-player experience.

I swear this social gaming BS is just getting a wee bit too much.

So let me get this straight. It's not just EA that is at fault here?

Because this is Maxis GM talking, and she states that it didn't fit their vision. Now, whether or not, it was EAs' decision or Maxis' I don't really know, but the thing that's being said about not implementing offline-mode is utter BS.

Who exactly is praising the online-always "features" then? And why not just give the players the choice, seeing it is so simple to have both modes? I just find this whole thing reaking of lies and whatnot, and not just from EA.

Deja vu from D3 anyone?

@pituf080 Sadly, like I've said before, this is probably the way things are going to get more and more in the future. I don't mean proper MMORPGs and such, because that's their whole idea, to be online all the time, with these I have no problem with whatsoever.

However, the trend of online-aways that is creeping into essentially single-player games is worrying. It is just another (failed) attempt to get rid of piracy. Which never works. How many times have we heard of disgruntled people, who have bought the game, saying that something is conflicting etc. when the pirated games (which obviously have all these "safety" measures removed) enjoy the full games without any problems whatsoever.

I just cannot for the life of me understand why all these companies, still after all these years, insist on putting any kind of anti-piracy measures into their games. Piracy will always be, but it might even die off, if paying customers were treated better, with better products etc. And like I said, putting the prices down as well, because any from of DRM costs money to implement, and the cost falls yet again to paying customers.

@stev69 @deathstream Also, I read somewhere that 720 might actually require 24/7 connection to be able to be used properly? I'm not sure if this is true or not, but that's what I read somewhere.

Thing is, anti-piracy just never works. In fact, I think it does the exact opposite. People who buy games get fed up with constant problems with this and that, whether its' software related or indeed hardware with server problems etc.and have stated many times that they will start using/getting pirated games just because they work better than the real ones.

@XspidervenomX To be honest, I liked them both, a lot.

FO3 had a lot to live up to, for me anyway, because I have always been a massive FO2 fan especially. It might not have been as good as could have been, but boy did I rack up some hours with that. Played it through about 7 times or so with mediocre computer that could barely run it, ooo the frustration sometimes... but, totally worth it :)

FNV I enjoyed too, I don't think I played it as much as I did FO3, but that might be because of RL commitments and all that as well. Still, a great game.

I for one am really excited about new FO game, if it gets to at least the same level than either one of earlier ones, I'm going to be glad.

@Gravity_Slave It's a very bad direction to go, and unfortunately, it seems to be an industry standard or becoming one, these days.

I was looking forward to this game, but "fortunately" read all the stuff before buying. Now, unless something changes drastically, I'll be skipping it all together, sadly.

@StarsiderSajun From the ending of DS3 it is quite clear that DS4 is (was) coming.

I thought the game itself was alright, nothing mind-blowing, but overall good game.

The feared micro-transcations, didn't bother me at all. Once I finished the game, I had so much minerals left it was unreal. I wouldn't had had any reason to buy extra ones, or bots or whatever they were selling.

You know, I noticed the exact same thing. I remember Blizzard saying, oh no we can't possibly implement offline, because of "insert a list of excuses", and then they announce it is in the console version. Classy, pure class Blizzard.

@shantyshocker It seems so, I thought there was one already, SimCity Social. Apparently, I was wrong and they want another, sigh...

@Entropy730 @S4E @crabbyprime Yeah, I'm with you on Blizzard. They have really gone downhill recently. I can't see me ever buying anything from them again, and I used like pretty much all of their games.

With EA, I can't say I wouldn't buy some games, because they just are too involved with everything and everyone, but I do read stuff carefully before committing to any of theirs either, luckily with this one I did just that.
