@tim1935 It's Blizzard, not EA. So people flock and buy like sheeps anyway, no matter what they do :)

That's why they can charge whatever they want, even though it is only an expansion.

@Cloud_imperium You also forgot to mention that this should have already been part of SC2, instead of Blizzards' blatant money-making adventure, mutilated game that was spread into multiple parts.

But hey ho, people are still buying it, even though Blizzard screwed them over with this as well.

@M3o5nster @S4E @sinn_exit @jagcivtec True that people could do that, but if it becomes completely accepted standard, which everyone uses, what are you meant to do then?

If every game, or 99% of them, would have some sort of micro transactions, what choice do you have, but to buy the games, if you want to keep playing that is.

I do think you are absolutely right though, this trend is dishusting. These games ain't released completely done, but you buy sort of 80% of the game and the rest you either buy as this or that (DLC/micros/whatnot) or you just don't get the missing 20%.... and, end up playing, in effect, only partial game.

Only type of DLC I approve are those that actually bring in something major. A game that has, let's say, 20 hours of playing time adds new content that adds 5 hours on top, I have no problem with, providing it is reasonably priced that is.

These; you get weapons, armor, gear in general, tiny things, this crap in Tomb Raider now, that cost sort of £5 I find absolutely appalling though.

@sinn_exit @jagcivtec Yeah, I agree. Gaming has changed too much. Then again, screw the micro transactions. Dead Space 3 for example, you don't need them.

I completed the game with so many unused resources that it was unreal. Why on earth would you need to buy more with real money?

I do think this is a worrying direction though and I've said this before, it's not the industrys' fault as such. It is the way people think these days.

D3 could easily be added to that list with its auction houses as an example of this "I want everything now, and don't want to do anything to get it"- attitude.

@GSGuy321 @Spartan_418 Very true, in every country. EA might influence some crappy games being made, but they don't con people that have lost their homes etc.

Not to mention extortionate car insurance fees, if you want to drive your car...

@Sydrum @S4E @KoRRoDEAD @gokuofheaven I know how SWTOR works, I'm currently subbed (at least for little while longer) and I know the limitations of it (F2P).

However, if you forget the terminology, and just say, you do as GW2, you buy the game, and that's it. No other charges. This is what I read I think, that would happen with (T)ESO, eventually anyway.

Whether its true or not, I have no idea, but it makes me wonder anyway. I would just like to know how it is going to be, I might subscribe if I knew more, but seeing as nobody knows yet, I'll leave it to that.

@Daemoroth @S4E @pwc2 Oh bloody hell, so that's what they meant by fake numbers, I thought fake numbers meant like millions and you got that 100-200K. That's just crap.

And yes, you are not the only one that finds the whole business with D3 appalling.

The fact alone that console versions come with offline is a f**king disgrace, when they said all along that offline-mode wasn't possible to have, because drop rates etc. were done/calculated on the server-side.

You know, I'm afraid those will change (drop rates) for consoles, so that you CAN actually get proper loot a la D2, shockingly, YOURSELF. Not using AH/RMAH.

So prepare to fume, "slightly" :D

...The only reason D3 pc version has to have that crap are the auction houses. That's all.

@pwc2 @S4E Yeah, it does look good. Any down-sides?

I was looking at the platinum version from their website.
