It depends on what you like to play. Since RPG and turn-based strategy are my favorite genres, PC has the best exclusives for me.

I'm glad that more japanese developers and publishers are bringing their games to PC, The First Chapter will be released next week (July 29th) and the Second Chapter by the end of 2014.

The lastest game I've bought was the amazing Divinity: Original Sin and the next one will be the Steam version of Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky- First Chapter that will be released next week.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight delays were disappointing, but I can't complain about 2014. There has been a lot of good games released on the first half of the year and there's still a lot more to come till december.

The opera soundtrack from Heroes of Might and Magic II never ceases to amaze me.

This year? Definitely Betrayer. It's an immersive and quite unique stealth/mistery action-adventure game.

Wolfenstein: The New Order was developed by Machine Games (ex Starbreeze members), not id Software. I believe people aren't hyping Doom 4 because id Software pratically doesn't exist anymore. Most of their talent (the people who created Doom and the very FPS genre) has left the company.

Some 2D RPGs like Arcanum, Fallout 1 and 2 and Divine Divinity are still very playable (and still look quite good) with a few bug fix patches and widescreen mods:

I'll most likely buy Metro: 2033 Redux because of the improvements, especially regarding the stealth mechanics and performance. I see no reason to buy Metro: Last Light Redux.
