I think I spend around 30'ish hours in the game, I used the heart of anyone I could find and found that it repeated itself a lot.. like apperantly 1/3 of all guards have murdered a noble man and framed their brother. :)

But I too felt that the story was a little too, how should we say it, widespread - what was the role of the ancient civilization under Dunwall? They revered the whales, but why? Are the whales sentinent like it was hinted towards and how do they relate to the Outsider?

In my oponion, this game created a backstory that was so interesting, it actually became a burden to the game, which I guess is, in itself a compliment. I hope they flesh it out further in DLCs there are many many divergent story lines I would love to explore.

noone seems to question Halflife and most people seem to think its the best FPS ever made (although I think its pretty generic :P)stan_boyd

Are we talking about 1 or 2 here? Because to call Half-Life 1 generic is seriously wrong. It singehandedly defined the genre as we know it, it might seem generic now looking back, but that's because all action FPS since have copied, honored, stolen and/or plagarized the core gameplay and story elements.

It's like saying Doom/Wolfenstein was generic for having a first person perspective..

@templink, no it's an English folk song called Greensleeves. Little Nemo's song was composed by Junko Tamiya. :) and the song from about 00:40 is walz, altough I can't remember the composer or name of it - sounds like Johann Strauss though.

@e1337prodigy, it's a question of temperament, what Bethesda does better than anyone in the RPG genre is openworld/sandbox (well Piranha Bytes too) - they are masters of environment and locale, but they are not very good at making every town, every person and every nook and cranny feel like it's part of a believable and immersive world. CDproject however are extremely good at that, but at the cost of open ended exploration. So again, it's a question of temperament.

Looks interesting - albeit a little heavy on the "wow" factor.. Also, is it just me or did the first 40 second seem thematically like the Frank Miller "300" trailer? heh

I find this developing trend by Bioware, of making ingame characters resemble their voice actors, quite interesting - especially in light of the fact that you can basically create any visual appearance you would want. It must be to get the "movie" feel they are so actively pursuing.

Seems like all of the new characters are certified psychopaths..

Just a comment to the people talking about Napoleon not conquering Russia.. You are in fact absolutely right, but have you noticed what ship Napoleon is ordering his troops to burn? It's none other than the HMS Victory, Lord Nelson's flagship.. The one from the Battle of Trafalger, where he defeated the combined French/Spanish Armada and turned the tide of war, on the seas, in tremendous favour of the British.. So I think it's safe to assume that CA is making a statement here - you get the chance to re-write history. As a little bonus, look at the stone just underneath Napoleon, as the troops with the torch walks by.. ;-)

@Molokai16: "Is it me or in this game Napoleon just got taller? =P" Actually it's a common misconception, Napoleon was of average height in his time, he was just surrounded by his Elite, who were probably 1.80+ m. The English were quick to use this and tried to play on this difference in height to ridicule Napoleon in a propaganda stunt, aimed at boosting morale at home..

Being able to customize your ships will add a great strategic element, especially playing smaller nations, or if you have resource problems. I don't like the graphics (HoI2 is more aestheticly pleasing imho), but this could ceartinly make up for it!

Bioware don't seem to realize that they are digging a rather deep grave for themselves, they promise a unique story for each class in order to get players to feel more connected to their avatars.. but that story will still be shared by more than a thousands others. All waiting outside generic cave #1 to kill their nemesis.. How personal is that? I predict that this MMO will fail just as hard as AoC. Simply because people will expect too much from it..
