It all depends on if your monitor supports component signaling through VGA. While they are very simillar signals, there are some differences in the synching signal of VGA and component. My mum's currently in the US so I'll just ask her to pick up the adapter box, it'll be cheaper too. Very disappointed though, I was really looking forward to using this straight away. :(
Alright there's a way to do this. The component cables that you showed were, able to produce HD. Now connect those to the VGA converter, and connect to the monitor. For sound, if you have a home theater system, connect that to your PS3 by a Digital Audio cable.kingalphagold
That's what I was thinking. It just costs quite a bit. (I'll have to get it from the US, mum'll be back from there in 2 weeks) Does anyone know if the 360 VGA cable would work or are they incompatible?
Got my new monitor, and after buying a HDMI to DVI cable, I found out the hard way that the PS3 (stuipidly) requires HDCP compliant sets to output through thr HDMI at all.
So now i'm thinking of using a VGA input, but I'm not sue what I need.
