As of right now, only PC gaming can fully support 4K gaming, and that's with a LOT of money put into the rig (notably the graphics cards and power supply). 4K is still a niche for gaming otherwise and is really not required for you to enjoy it.

You just described dungeon crawlers (Diablo, Path of Exile) and multiplayer sandbox (Borderlands, GTA, Red Dead Redemption). The first M in MMO means "massive," as in countless people in the same space. Not "up to 12 people." And in that context, Destiny has worse loot drops than any of the mentioned games.

People just need to admit that they got sold on Destiny's hype and graphics. Everything about the game is mediocre at best. I never even bothered buying it after the beta because I knew what to expect.
