This May, Xbox 360 continued to drive the video games industry, and Xbox 360 users continued to demonstrate their passion for the platform by buying more games and accessories than on any other next-gen console. In fact, U.S. consumers have spent more than two billion dollars on Xbox 360 consoles, games and accessories since November 2006 when our competitors launched their next-gen consoles. This equates to more than twice the sales of our next-gen competitors in that same time frame. In May, more than 154,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold.

Xbox 360 games secured four of the top 10 spots for best-selling games in May, including the ever-popular "Guitar Hero II" (Activision/RedOctane), "Spider-ManTM 3 The Game" (Activision), "Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars" (Electronic Arts) and "Forza Motorsport 2" (MGS), which sold 217K units in only five days. Due to the consistent success of our games portfolio, we continued to maintain our record-setting software attach rate for the 10th month in a row at 5.9 games sold per console.

Aside from just strong sales, "Forza Motorsport 2" is demonstrating a strong affinity with consumers; to date, 37.6 billion credits have exchanged among gamers on Xbox LIVE through the games Auction House, far surpassing our expectations. More than 160,000 unique users are playing on LIVE daily with gamers worldwide spending 90 minutes, on average per game session. Gamers in Japan are spending 116+ minutes, on average, per session alone!

Coming off the continued sales success of our 120GB hard drive, wireless controllers and headset, our accessories attach rate came in at 3.2 accessories sold per console for the month of May - another record-setter for next-gen consoles at this stage in the lifecycle and the highest mark to date.

Our record-breaking attach rates continue to demonstrate the commitment consumers have to Xbox 360, its blockbuster games and dynamic accessories.

Looking down the road, September 25, 2007 will be a date to remember in entertainment history, with the launch of "Halo 3" (MGS). The "Halo 3" multiplayer beta, which ran for a month and officially closed on June 12, was a huge success with more than 820,000 unique participants playing more than 12 million hours of online gameplay, equivalent to more than 1,400 years of continuous play by one person.

Also in September - as announced last week - consumers worldwide will have a variety of new merchandise to choose from, including two new Xbox 360 Limited Edition "Halo 3" Wireless Controllers, as well as an Xbox 360 Limited Edition "Halo 3" Wireless Headset, which will allow gamers to talk with friends over Xbox LIVE. The controllers and headset can be preordered at select retailers now, allowing "Halo" fans everywhere to prepare for the launch of this year's biggest game.jazreal

COME ON GAMESPOT, Your not making a lot of people happy, and this is really not effective, first with the comment rating system and now this?!!?! What are you guys thinking? You guys should just concentrate on getting more content and video, like www.gametrailers.com offers which are HD (AND FREE!!) and they have neat stuff like countdowns!

[QUOTE="DeKree"]Evidntly GAMESPOT gave away more keys than it new it had members.Kevin-V

I am not sure I do get the point you are making, because I am not sure what that means. We had limited keys and gave them out on a first-come, first serve basis.

The file works perfectly fine. Did you attempt to redownload and/or reinstall? Does your system meet required specifications? What is the error you are receiving?

As a matter of fact what Dekree is saying is true. You guys screwed up. Go to the Warhawk forums and look at how many people are mad about the beta downloads.
