I am going to move about 250GB or so, can a network be set up by just connecting them both with an etherne cable?

General_X

You can't just directly connect the two with a normal ethernet cable. You need a special type of ethernet cable called a crossover cable to do that. Unless you specifically bought a crossover cable the odds are good that the one you have won't work. If you don't have a crossover cable but have a couple of extra ethernet cables laying around, you will need to get a cheap network switch. Here's Crossover cable or A 10/100Mbps network switch or A 10/100/1000Mbps network switch

I remember getting a different cable for connecting my two Xboxes back in the day, was that a crossover cable?

I have to go for one of these laptops as I can get a decent discount and are within my price range. They all look very similar and I welcome any advice.

(the link goes to a comparison page of four laptops)

Yes! Thank you Wakenoid! Instant action, that is the one but it seams to be shut down for the moment, and I had a real urge to play Galcon! I wonder if the old accounts will still be valid when it relaunchs?

Hi,

Can anyone help me find a site I was playing on alot last year. It was a free online game site that only had a few (but very good) games. They were all multiplayer.

The three games I remember;

  • 3D class based FPS with jetpacks
  • 3D WW1 era dogfighting game
  • And the game I really want to play again, a 2D RTS space game where the goal is to take over all the planets with little ships, the size of the planet determining the ship production rate. Each players planets are a bright primary colour and in team games the team is given by the colour of the atmosphere.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Doesn't recognise it has a disc within it, doesn't make any sort of noise mechanical or otherwise when the eject button is held for any length of time. All other functions of the PS3 are opperational, any advice?

It is a 40GB UK model, it is second hand so I don't have the reciept but it has worked perfectly for the 18 months I have had it.
