What a bunch of whiny haters. Yea, a lot of this has been done before...on a PC. This is a console game in case you haven't noticed. Regardless of the mindless hater-speak, this is simply the best first person shooter I have ever played. Even if the mechanics and the gameplay don't make it the best, the social aspect does. It is so easy to play with groups of friends, same videos and pictures...it may have been done before, but its never been this easy. Hate all you want, it doesn't change anything.
Good update, but I agree with the need for AIM chat support. I don't know a single person that uses Windows Live Messenger, making that feature completely useless to me. Otherwise though, a very solid update.
MLB 2K7, from the few games that I have played thus far, is FAR better than last years iteration, which was a disgrace to say the least. The presentation is truly impressive and the base running is much better than last year. The fielding is still pretty weak and imprecise, but not nearly as buggy as 2K6. That said, The Show is still a better baseball game. It just plays better. MVP needs to come to the 360. I know that EA makes some spectacularly bad decisions almost all the time, but come on...PS2 only? That's terrible. Wii Sports is great for little kids and old people, we all know that. The baseball game continues this direction; cute, very very easy, and fun...but gimmicky.
$159 price-point, releasing in mid-to-late October. The controller will include a microphone. Wii Sports will be bundled with the console, as it is the perfect training mechanism for the Wii-mote. 12 titles available at launch, although Twilight Princess will be delayed to early 07. Knowing Nintendo, they will bust out some surprise that none of us saw coming. I have had the feeling all along that they were holding something back.
Honestly, with Assasin's Creed and Unreal Tournament 2007 now coming to the 360, I'm struggling to find a reason to even want a PS3. It's funny, I was such a huge PS2 fan that I wasn't even considering an Xbox 360 but with Sony delaying the original launch date, I bought a 360. I gotta say, I love the thing. The games are great, the connectivity is awesome, and the controller is the best I have ever used. I'm really looking forward to the racing wheel and the HD-DVD drive. Sony just keeps dissapointing its fans over and over again with the PS3. Their decision to force yet another proprietary technology, Blu Ray, on consumers has backfired horribly. They should have launched a $399 PS3 with a standard DVD drive. There would be no pricing issues and no production issues. Good luck Sony, screwing your consumer base...again...is simply not the way to go.
PGR3 is included with the racing wheel? WTF! I would imagine that most people getting the Racing Wheel, especially early adopters, will be racing game fans and will already have a copy of PGR3. They better offer the wheel as a stand alone for a lower price or in a bundle with Forza 2. The $80 camera bundle is a hell of a deal, but man, I don't need any more headsets. The wireless headset is overpriced. It would figure that the only acessory I really care about, the HD-DVD drive, would be the only one with no pricing or release date. C'mon Microsoft, stop slacking and let us know how much it will be and when we can buy it. I suspect a November launch and a $149 price tag but lets see some confirmation. All told though it looks like MS is getting their act together with some quality add-ons.
