@kevo44: It was great! Glover is spot on with Lando. I really want a Lando movie after this.

@Fia1: Barring that, what did you think of the movie?

@tjkraz: That would go against another reason why they want the games to run similarly, so they can have as many available players for matches as possible. You can't keep gamers interested in a game when the online player base dwindles over time. They want to stave that off for as long as possible.

Bungie's statement has nothing to do with the PS4 Pro (this is just GamesSpot sensationalism) but they are related in this way: Bungie wants the game to run the same between both XBox Ones and both Playstation 4s, even if the more powerful consoles might be able to run the game at 60fps, so as to make the online play fair between all players. This is something to expect from online multi-player games, so if you are into those you won't get the bang for your buck with the newest consoles.

@gamersince78: Unfortunately, he'll just use this to propel himself even more into the spotlight in media ventures. You know what they say...there is no such thing as bad press. Well, maybe for politicians, but he's not one, so even if he loses he'll have succeeded in what he came to do.

@killered3: I suspect you will, though depends on the game and how much detail the standard version has versus an enhanced version. Not all games now run at 1080p or 60fps, and even if they do, there are likely trade-offs in texture resolution/detail, polygons, draw distances, etc. to make that happen. With the PS4 Pro, a game will still be graphically superior on a regular HDTV if developer provides the content. You can have a high end PC running a graphically maxed out game on an 1080p HDTV and it'll look better than the game on a console using that same TV, provided the game isn't just a straight console port with no improvements.

I don't see this happening unless both benefit from it, say by significantly increasing new-console adoption and or increasing the player base industry wide. Whether it's a "win" for gamers is irrelevant since not having the feature isn't keeping anyone from buying consoles.

@graffitiheart: Granted, that's a big one, but I wouldn't say Sony's line-up hasn't been great because they don't have one big FPS, unless it was the only really good one. With COD, Battlefield, Far Cry, Doom, Titanfall, Destiny, etc. I don't think Sony is losing out too much. Also, I'm guessing there are a lot of COD/Battlefield players who don't care much about Halo, given it's more sci-fi bent. Sony has come to terms that they couldn't make a Halo killer with Killzone, hence the switch to Horizon: Zero Dawn, which will pay off handsomely if it turns out as great as it already looks.

@turianshepard: Actually, it can get very confusing at retail for consumers. As someone who has worked at a major retailer selling consoles and games, I can tell you that shoppers just don't know. They aren't idiots, but many aren't tech savvy or follow this day to day. I could explain it well but it's just a lot of information to take in and try to decide on, especially when you have multiple generations on the shelf from 3 different manufacturers and parents are going to drop $3-500 on their kid (including tax). Now we'll have 2 generations and 3 performance tiers from both MS and Sony plus Nintendo and god knows how many SKUs with varying game bundles and hard drive capacities come Christmas. Many times they come in for a console their child asked for, not knowing what that is or that any others exist. It's like walking into a minefield! And all Timmy really wanted was Minecraft for his Wii because that's all his friends at school talk about.
