I can relate to this topic. I used to get so pissed, especially in the NES and SNES era. I broke several NES controllers. I would get mad and spike the controller constantly. Those things were tough and actually took a lot of abuse. I actually took a small chunk out of the door of the NES. My friends and i used to play a lot of Killer Instinct SNES back in the day. I swore so much at the game, that my friends set a tape recorder up while we played and it was actually quite amusing. All my friends actually get pissed off when they play, I am not sure if they got it from me or not. Now, controllers are too expensive, so I just swear more. I'm really not an angry person, I just take my games too seriously sometimes. But sometimes the games cheat, so what can you do?

I think I read somewhere recently that the Dreamcast was released a few months before it was actually scheduled. It was a surprise, even to developers. This could have given it a slow start since many games werent even finished for the scheduled launch. I've never followed or even played a DC game, but it does have a fan base still. The Gamecube could have been better if they went with a DVD ROM setup rather than a minidisc. I would think they would have learned their lesson with the cartridge based N64 when everyone else was coming out with CD Roms. I was a late comer to the Gamecube and I have a very small collection of games. But it does have some great games that wont be forgotten; games that wont be found on other systems. I probably played RE4 more than anything else. So to answer the question...it will be remembered, more than the Dreamcast, but thats just my opinion.

I bought my used Gamecube in Fall of 04 and used it to play GBA games with the gameboy player the first month I had it. But the first game I actually bought was Luigi's Mansion for $9 used at EB.

Resident Evil 4 or Mario Kart are good choices. Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon are alright, if you like those kind of games.

You can probably get it on Amazon or Ebay for around $10. So if even if you end up hating it, its not a big loss. I thought about buying it myself because Circuit City had it on sale a few weeks ago.

I have a Geforce 7600 GS 256MB and couldnt be happier. You can probably get one for around $100-$125 on newegg now. Its a good low priced card. One thing to look for when buying a graphics card, other than the memory size, is how many pixel pipelines it has. Sometimes the box wont even tell you, and the employees at most stores probably wont know what you are talking about. The newegg site tells you though. You might want to look for something with 12-16 pipelines, which will probably be in your budget. (The 7600 GS has 12). Hope that helps, good luck!

Have you ever checked out Newegg.com? Their prices will beat any retail store, and sometimes even ebay. I have used them for the past couple years and I will never go back to ebay again. You usually get the part within 3 days and its brand new, not some used piece of crap on ebay. (I used to get ripped off on there on computer parts). But, I just thought I would mention Newegg in case you havent heard of them.
