When looking at PS2 games, better graphics were needed and easy to improve on. Now the amount of power needed to improve graphics is just too great for the improvement given. Its time to focus the power elsewhere. AI, voice recognition, voice synthesis, physics... Can now get some much needed attention.

@desdecardo: Although I agree they are both in it for the money but its... like comparing food from Mcdonalds back in the day to In-and-out. when McDonalds used heat lamps.... they both want to sale you food but one was selling you as cheap of "food" as you could find.

Microsoft is extracting as much money from people as possible, which is fine because Fans of Xbox don't seem to mind bending over.

first Live was a great service but with the advertisements on the edges There is no need to charge as much as they did when it launched. but they were making BILLIONS off of their subscribers and the advertisement continues with real ads to watch, while the price was raised.

Again "look above for for link" Microsoft forced developers to charge when DLC first started.

its internal HDD is proprietary and has ALWAYS cost more than the equivalent HDD or one with more space.

If Sony did any of this many Fans would stop.

i can understand if you are new to gaming and just missed this BIG controversy

Sony made big mistakes but Sony is trying to make a games market "build it (console and games) and they (players) will come. change your HDD to any HDD external HDD (though took some time :( but they worried about pirates) started to charge for Online play following MS but gave away free games with it.

Microsoft is focused on money, Proprietary console, E3 2013 announcements, Live first to charge, first to raise the price, first to have ads on live even though they charge. DID not want to give away free DLC even though developers wanted to. AND it goes on.

They are both companies and both are looking at their bottom line. Microsoft is just more about the bottom line and focused on how to get money out of its consumers. Sony is more about the culture of games while making money.

All the consoles had games and good ones along with the bad ones. Play and be happy. For me and supporting the games community I had consoles and bought games while for one console " I sild my ship to a friends house and "borrowed" them.played so many. a few were on both consoles if I was not sure I played first if not so good I just used them on my Xbox, and Xbx 360 for free

This is coming from Microsoft the company that said that Kinect was Vital to the future of gaming, the company that said that Paying for Online play was essential, even though they made Billions off the service, the company that ONLY after Sony give away GAMES, decided that your money should also give you some games, the company that believes in propitiatory HDD and ports unless forced to allow third party access to connect.

I know you need money to make games, but Microsoft has gone too far. and the will only get worse. IF they can squeeze every last dime out of you they will.

MS said that it was an integral part of Xbox one and could not be separated from Xbox. So much for that. maybe one day it will rise from the dead like Move. And to think unlike Sony, MS had the money to support it.... what happened??
