The problem has been resolved.

Thanks for all the useful help. As I'm a student

at the time, I was afraid my machine would

completely stop working, leaving me with not

enough money to get a new one.

Now, the problem, one of the usb controllers

just has given up, that's annoying, but I

guess better this way then another.

Thank you very much for your ongoing support, it's very appreciated.

I will be away for the next some days, but I've bookmarked the

links to the two programs, and shall give an update,

as soon as I'm back, and getting to run them.

Thanks again.

Edit:

When I started Speedfan, I remembered Iused it a while ago,

with problem, that prevail, it problem with my mainboard,

or I with choosing an option form the list that fits.

The problems is, I don't get any values for the voltage,

just for the temperatures.

The Laptop I used is an Acer Aspire 5920g, but I

didn't manage to find something regarding the issue.

It went through all the tests. No disconnects.

Just to be sure I ran it a second time.

I'm not sure what this tells me.

Everything has been updated, but thanks for the suggestion none the less. :-)

Ah, that was one thing I forgot to mention, yes, I disabled the power saving option

in the control panel, but I'm afraid to no effect.

I'm currently downloading 3d mark 06 from the fine folks at 3d guru,

it will still take some time, I guess I shall be able to test tomorrow until noon.

Thanks for these suggestions, I'm already comparing some PSU checkers,

that won't blow my budget, with the tuition fees it gets narrow. ;-)

Edit:

I've run a session of 3dmark 06 basic, there were no problems so far,

no usb disconnects/reconnects. I didn't quite expect that.

Oh my, that's just what I didn't want to hear.

It's not like that my Acer didn't made problems before.

The gpu in the Acer5920g notebook, which is mine, has nvidia card

built in, where it was later to be known, it had construction defect,

producing to much heat. I would really appreciate, if that's not the cause.

Guess I should start saving some money, just to be on the safe side,

ah, and making some backups... I don't wanna! :(

Yes, sorry, I forget to mention, I already checked for upgrades,

I even tried a downgrade, just to see, if the older driver worked better.

I even tried the older version of my graphics drivers, but sadly to no effect.

Okay guys and gals,

I really got a problem here, and I tried all words you can imagine on the topic

in all imaginable combinations with google, but I didn't got a single hint.

Just recently I was trying to play Jets and Guns, I tried with any other game,

old new, 3d, no 3d, after 5 seconds, while the game is loading, which any

games does like it should, the windows sound is heard, that usb cables

have been disconnected. After the process is done, everything on the

usb ports comes back, just to be disconnected again.

This is a hell of an annoyance. I've got my keaboard and mouse for

about 5 seconds, than it's gone, as soon as any game is shut down,

everything is back to normal.

I tried other usb port, disconnected my hubs, deleted the usb entrys

in the control panel. I even went to the registry, as I had USB problems

in the past already, but it didn't help.

So, if there's anyone out there, that could have another guess,

please help me, before my boring work does kill me, and I

can't escape to some good old arcade! :-)

I've got patience, and I've got hope, that, at some point, in my life time, I'll see another game in the mind of Fallout I, Planescape Torment or Arcanum.
