I'd pay to see WB and AMZ duke it out over who can tell the better Tolkien story. Especially if Warner keeps with Peter Jackson...

A lot of people are saying the reviewer wasn't good, but the fact still re,mains whether you're playing a souls like game or not, having checkpoints that are buggy and lose hours of progress is terrible. Any other souls like game I've played; though hard; always had fair saves.

Also, hours of mundane minigame puzzles doesn't sound fun at all. Is 4 a bit harsh? Perhaps, but anything in the 4 to 6 range is kinda lackluster anyways.

Why do people remove the twin towers from everything? Let's honor the memory of them, and keep them in? Is every historic game, photo, movie become 'tainted' by the towers? Must they be scrubbed from everything that is re-released?

What exactly consigns the twin towers to deserve this horrible fate?

Edit: For instance Zoolander added the towers back in, when re-released. I agree that back in the day it made sense, but this is history we're dealing with here.

@dirtydyk: Honestly that sounds really awesome. I think tightly scoped stories make great TV. I'd love to see a Frodo & Bilbo, Aragorn, Legolas & Gimli, series and then see how they dovetail with the LOTR Fellowship. Gandalf can appear in many of them (like a Nick Fury type), and I think done well could be a big deal.

Certainly more interesting than what we have now with ROP.

@jenovaschilld: Yeah, I agree, though I think the last Craig Bond film I could watch again and again, despite it's sad subject matter.

Tom Holland does look perpetually young; but can stand in for a younger James Bond type... But I can see that going nowhere with audiences. Robert Pattinson is a great choice not sure how his Batman experience will tie him up.

@jenovaschilld: While you have a solid list; I cannot see them committing to a 10 to 12 year commitment to play Bond... It would have to be someone younger like Tom Holland, Richard Madden or Kit Harrington, possibly Charlie Cox?

I'm 4 episodes in and my goodness is the writing awful. Nothing really interesting has been happening, we get updates now on some characters every other episode. Halbrand is literally quipping to Galadriel from a *jail cell* several times how awful she is and isn't he supposed to be a bit dubious here? Galadriel gets into trouble without realizing she's a freaking immortal elf with thousands of years of experience and not once can she command a court? Would be nice if a wind picked up and curtains billowed when she spoke her name to show power in the fact she is a magical being. She is alone also on an island that treats her like a lesser so... Characters and some of their motivations are very painfully written and I was holding out hope it'd get better but as one person has said before: "The show is not that bad; it's like a cheap teen CW series... Except it really shouldn't be with the budget it has."

The show runners and writers show that this show feels cheap. Like it's not outright bad. My verdict?

Changes to lore... ok.

Changes to characters race/gender... ok (like in sandman).

Changes to timelines for sake of TV... ok.

Bad writing? Never. Ever. Ok.

Sandman was far better! House of the Dragon? Better!

Do they change lore and characters? Yes, at times small or in large parts! But are these shows well well written? Yes! And that trumps all. Also Sandman and HotD got some pretty phenomenal actors too. Like Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman etc.? Really? And LotR: RoP not ONE really well known actor?
