@KurokaKisho Hotz pitched the master key as the end to PS3 security, a hack that Sony couldn't fix. Why in the world would you think he was trying to help by releasing it to everyone?

@KurokaKisho ...how was Hotz trying to help? All he did was hack the heck out of the PS3 and release the master key to the public. "Helping" would have been to tell Sony he was able to do it and how to prevent others from doing it, not giving the entire world a shortcut to it.

@Tidal_Abyss Being the jobless sap that I am, I only have a single 460. Though, I am set to start a great job soon and will be getting a second one. I also have my computer hooked to my TV...I have no other choice. I got no desk, just a coffee table.

No argument or point here, just sayin' how I do my PC gaming, i.e., unspectacularly (at least for now).

As much as it pains me to say it because I am a very loyal Valve fanboy...they really dropped the ball on this one. The gameplay is superb, no doubt about it, but the inconsistencies and the obvious lack of PC polish that they're known for is really disappointing. I'm a PC gamer above all, PS3 next, and I've always loved Valve for the attention they've given to PC. This just seems way below their usual standard...it's kind of sad.

I realize that it's still the better of the the three, though lacking some shadows, but it's just not the usual Valve. I also think they've really stretched Source as far as it can go and it's starting to show some age.

If Hotz wanted to be seen as a good guy, he should've taken a good guy route. He's not an idiot, at least when it comes to programming, and could have easily made a program that you could load onto a PS3 to allow homebrew software, Linux support, etc, without releasing the master key to the general public.

If he had the master key, pretty much all to himself, he could have taken the time to make such a program. One that uses the key to unlock the PS3, to an extent (limiting piracy, basically), without releasing the key to everyone.

I'm always in support of opening up hardware/software, but I believe in figuring out ways to not hurt people while doing it, especially the original creators. It's like spitting on them (which is probably what Hotz wanted) and saying their product isn't worth supporting.

PS3 owner who switched from 360 here (RROD victim and will probably get a new 360 as soon as I can afford it).

I enjoyed Halo 3 quite a bit and will never "trash talk" about it. My biggest annoyance, however, is how overrated it is. Very enjoyable game, very fun, but not the super, amazing, FPS-revolutionizing game that many describe it as. Resistance 2 on PS3 is just about the same even. They're both above-average, but won't ever be 'amazing' in my book.

The first Halo deserves recognition as one of the best early console FPS games. It was great. Halo 2/3/Reach are mostly just the same game with updated looks and updated multiplayer (due to how big of a feature multiplayer has to be these days). I just hate it being overhyped, ya know? I love the games, but Halo 1 is the only one that deserves a 9.0 - 9.5 while the sequels should all be around 8.5

Just my opinion though.

@trodeback I honestly wish I could just because it would be pretty awesome, but I wouldn't unless I were a millionaire. I mean, if you have the money to spend on something like this then why not?

Not many people can though...

Calm down, folks. I think we can all agree that the better system is PC. :D
