1: Create a coach is a gutted franchise that's what he was talking about in his hypothetical scenario. They took out a lot and left hardly anything.

2: You can't use edited rosters in CCM. And don't think I haven't tried. I tried several different ways and came up empty everytime.

3: I don't really care about fantasy draft either way.

4: I hate the XP system because it's next to impossible to advance from backup to starter.The-Apostle

And this is exactly what I meant by his analogy is wrong. "I don't really care about fantasy draft either way" what you don't care about someone else might. And what someone else might, you might not. For example, I don't care about editting rosters, I hate the idea of starting a franchise editting my team to have Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson in my team via this feature (that was just an example).

The XP System is hardly next to impossible, as I said in Coach Mode Cole Beasley is sitting at third stringer after being a 5th stringer just after eight games. I made a WR with the "Create a Player" Mode, and I'm sitting right now as a starter (2nd, not first)   after just 9 weeks with the Cleveland Browns. And once more, you might hate it, others might love it, but the conception that they gutted something and left nothing behind is simply wrong, which was my point. Whether you like it or not is another discussion.

His example speaks about Spagetthi getting cut completely from meatballs and w/e else, that's wrong, they just didn't cut off and gave nothing in return.

1) They took out editting players (numbers, cleats, etc) (Ingredient One). Yet, they added features like Create a Coach and Create a Player with the options of uploading a 3D rendered picture of whatever you want for your player profile. Whether you like this feature or not is like if I like meatballs or another ingredient. I never used the editing feature previously, and it was a merely aesthetic feature. Even with that "little" trade (because honestly, creating a face is not as cool as editing all your players and etc) it did not leave it out just in the dust.

2) Took out editting players stats. Yeah, again it might suck for a lot of people who enjoyed putting in a maxed 99 player in the game, which to be honest (in my opinion) removed some challenge in playing Franchise Mode. If I'm not mistaken however, you can STILL edit/create players, add them to your roster and play the Connected Career mode OFFLINE using your edited roster. So, I don't see the problem here. I might be wrong though, but I do think its possible to do, you just have to have different rosters.

3) Fantasy Draft. This one, yeah, they screwed up, they removed this option and completely destroyed how fun it was to have a league where the Cowboys had Adrian Peterson as RB or stuff like this, this one I give it to you, they completely screwed up by removing this feature.

4) They added the Experience Feature (which yeah, it does needs some tweaks) but, in my opinion, is an AMAZING way of making break-out players even from undrafter/low drafted players. This far in my Career as a Coach, I have gotten Cole Beasley (from the Cowboys) from a 72 Overall rating to a 76 after playing only 8 weeks. This on previous installments would be his peak, considering the PROBABLE D letter he would have gotten for Progression. Not only that, but you can customize your players traits as you wish.

In all, they didn't gutted the Spagetti, they didn't took the meatballs and sauce and left only the plain old Spaggetti in the bowl, they changed the meatballs for another ingredient, they changed their sauce and yes, maybe they left out the bay leaves. That's why I said his analogy was mistaken. Anyways, is the game perfect? Heck no, the Fantasy Draft was a feature I loved, editting players was fun, but does that makes a game "garbage"? No, the game play is great, MUCH more improved than other times, the Scouting, Progression and little details on Conected Careers are fun, the storylines on your draftees is really cool as well (another change instead of importing your class from NCAA '13, which I also think they should have given you a choice). I hope you understand my point.

Anyone here that's saying "CCM is JUST LIKE" the normal franchise mode couldn't be more wrong. Here's a scenario:

Would any of you who happen believe that go to your favorite restaurant to order your favorite dinner (let's use spaghetti with meatballs and garlic knots) where you always paid $40.00 for the dish...and then they tell you that the meatballs, sauce and garlic knots are no longer included? But the price remains the same?

Would you be fine with that? No matter how great the semolina wheat noodles were, would you pay, blindy, and smile?

Sheep do what they're told, use your brain and don't view less as more unless EA was going to charge $20.00 for this "game" we have (about to be shipped back). It makes no sense to smile while someone is going in your wallet...and giving you less value for what they take back.

Be smart.

If you don't see why this analogy is wrong, then it's useless to get into a discussion with you.

Actually, he's dead on. It's like gutting the spaghetti, which is essentially what everyone's problem is with the game in terms of gutting franchise mode.

Nope, he is not at all, but again, if you don't see why it's useless to even have an argument.

[QUOTE="butterlou"]It's not as bad- IT'S WORSE! I agree with Adema. Mike Wallace is a sprinter. He has Olympic speed but ANY DB can keep up with him as he streaks down the field? Really? C'mon... This is what they were supposed to fix, and Connected Careers is supposed to exploit that. They exploited my wallet and ruined my remaining 2012 and upcoming 2013 video football season. I would be upset at certain things Madden had going on over the years but it wasn't enough to take away the football experience cause everything was basically unchanged just updated rosters. In fact, 2008 or 2009 when they included QB vision was like the BEST Madden there was to date. This mess they shelled out is a circus minus the elephant.butterlou

I seriously don't know what game you're playing lol. Anyways, keep raging in the forums :P

You've got to enlighten me on how you like and why you like this game!

After reading your review and a few of the comments on this threads, it's useless. People like you and the one above won't get out of the "it's garbage! it's garbage!" mindset no matter what reasons are presented to them so, it's kind of useless to tell you why I like the game and what I think needs work.

That seems pretty shallow. See in contrast to what you think, I was VERY satisfied with Madden over the years. If you like Madden 13, then to each his own, but for me and the above we agree- this year just doesn't cut it. In years past my only gripe would be that LBs and DBs just do not cover in real life as well as they do in the video game- HOWEVER it's a video game. There is no reason to believe that it's realistic. With this, I accepted Madden and couldn't see the rants and raves of others. This version of Madden, however takes away the most enjoyable parts of Madden that even with those complaints made people sit and play. I have a very open mind and I'm not looking to disrespect, so please understand my viewpoint as all I was doing was asking of yours.

I do, it has its flaws, it has its dropped balls, it has stuff that they certainly screwed up with, I'm not denying that. But for example, they fixed most of the ridiculous interceptions that happened in other games, they fixed a lot of the gameplay issues that were present before, the game feels smoother (at least in my opinion) and the features added in the connected careers are awesome. Could they have done better? Absolutely, there was no reason to remove the Fantasy Draft from Franchise Mode, or editting the players, but does that REALLY makes it deserve a grade of 1? of 3? even of 5? Really? Definitively not. As I said on my review, this Madden game deserves at least a 7, because it's not an attrocity, they dropped the ball, completely agree, but calling it garbage is taking it to the extremes and let your anger take over. I hope you uderstand my point.

Depends on your play really. I have played 4 weeks (as a Coach) and one of my rookie receivers has improved 2 overall points already. The experience gains become significative depending on how well the player plays, I'm not sure what triggers it though, but the receiver I tell you about has had 4 games with 100+ yards and at least a TD in each. This in All-Madden Difficulty (just so you know, some people go ahead and say "yeah, what difficulty you are playing on) etc.

Anyways, I love the Connected Career Mode & EXP system, it could use some tweaks but I don't believe its as bad as some people want to put it.
