I finished Dawnguard under 4-hours. Yet to play Dragonborn, but i'm told they are about the same lenght.

PS: No. You dont HAVE to finish the campaign, and may start Awakening whenever you feel like.

some minor DLC items wount transfer, for instance "Agmagrakk"- and "Leilanna"-DLC each had two separated downloads for a unique item for both DA:O and AWAK... i would recommend you to play all the way trough the original campaign before starting the expansion. some story elements and details are carried over (i.e. who's king).

if my human noble married anora at the end of origins will he make an appearance in dragon age 2?

I dont think he will. My female human noble married Alistar, and she never appeared with him. She was mentioned tough.

i would recommend DA:O with most of its DLC... but not DA2. people have mixed feelings about that, test it out before investing in DLC
