@just1mohr: I guess that's one way to see it. It seems like an updated vision of the first game with notably improved visuals and a lot of the same strengths. Seems like a fitting launch title when not that much time has lapsed since the first game, particularly in the Covid era. If this was coming three years from now and still played the same, you'd have more of a point. Instead, this seems to me much in the vein of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. A different emphasis on more of what you love.
@theywantthedro: Doesn't Guilty Gear look great? I'm torn, because I was thinking of giving the Xbox first shot this time around (I've never owned anything but PS), but then I'm reminded of all the exceptional games Sony brings to their system, including gems like GG, which will probably never see the light of day on Xbox. Ugh.
@deth420: I agree that it was nice to see the Tusken Raiders as more than just spear-wielding props. That said, I'd have appreciated something a little more complex. There was a better way to do even this basic story. It all felt so "Star Wars lite." I know SW isn't always the most heavily dramatic stuff, but they could've handled it in a way where there was some more meaningful negotiation between the Tuskens and townsfolk. They could've also told the story in a way where I'd feel some impact when the townspeople and Tuskens were being slaughtered by this worm, instead of just "eh, get to the part where you kill it."
It worked well enough as a simple story. I guess I just wanted more. I've been spoiled by the likes of The Expanse, Peaky Blinders, and Better Call Saul. I guess I have to remember that The Mandalorian is supposed to appeal to a younger audience as well.
I appreciated the cameo much more than the episode. While I'm a big Olyphant fan, this episode was a weak way to start a new season after a fairly strong and much-hyped first season. It did very little to advance the story, featured some cringeworthy dialogue with the woman and her maintenance droids (I forget her name), and otherwise, was a very basic story about a group of people going to kill a big worm. I was hoping for more.
Awesome, but I hope they'll allow you to download without the compulsory inclusion of 100 different language packs. I only need English, and I'd rather not waste the space.
@gamerbum: When you make silly statements, it really undermines the credibility of your argument. You can certainly enjoy the look of the game. That’s your personal preference. But to say this game looks next-gen when you have CURRENT-gen games like TLoU2 and Ghosts of Tsushima just doesn’t hold up.
