@drswank He did. We talked about it on the HotSpot a couple years ago when Treyarch community manager Jospeh Olin was on.

@innocent69 I actually really liked that last Rambo movie. Thought it was fascinating for the different ways it used violence. First Blood is still easily the best though.

@leikeylosh I never defended Mass Effect 3's ending. It sounds terrible and I can understand why so many were angered by it. What I criticized was the call for a change to be made to it, and BioWare's caving to those calls.

@dalua360 Fair point. Pikmin 3, Lego City Undercover, Wonderbooks, Watch Dogs, and Halo 4 stood out for me. Even with the violence in the latter two, it seemed like it at least wasn't the focus of the game.

@MetalGuyver Pikmin 3 and Lego City Undercover looked pretty great, actually. And games like Watch Dogs managed to be incredibly cool independent of their violence.

@RAD_TRBO Watch Dogs does look awesome. But violence is a spice. A little can go a long way, and sucking down curry powder like it was pixy stix is sort of awful.

@ahfavro Being terrible doesn't stop something from being art.

@HerbalVideogame Seriously! I'm not even making a quality argument. I'm just saying all three of those guys are pretty far outside the norm. And we need to allow and encourage that, or we'll just be stuck with the norm. And the norm is boring.

@captainwonton That's a good thing, I think. We're not supposed to agree on everything.

@Fo_Fai I'm going to guess that every gaming site you see come out against BioWare changing the ME3 ending has run a review or an article that proved unpopular with the readership (like this one, let's say). I'm further going to guess that in the overwhelming majority of these cases, the gaming sites stood their ground rather than change their review and review score to appease angry readers. So if we're willing to take this much hate from our readers (who, yes, we need and respect) to stand by our criticisms, imagine how disappointed we might be to see one of the most beloved creators in this hobby we love cave when people take exception to the way they chose to end their trilogy. I'm not defending the ME3 ending or the marketing promises made. But I'd prefer BioWare own its mistakes and learn from them instead of change their vision (crappy as it might have been) at the first sign of adversity.
