I voted Nintendo, but I didn't feel anyone was particularly strong this year and feel it's one of the worst E3s I've witnessed.

I don't take into consideration multiplatform games because I usually do those on PC.

Favorite games:

Xenoblade, Mortal Kombat, Batman

Dishonored is a good game.  Stealth is probably the most interesting aspect of any game if done right.  Dishonored pretty much nailed it.  For some reason though, I feel something is missing in this game.  I can't quite put my finger on it.  I sometimes had to force myself to do the next mission.  I wanted to finish the game fast, because I wasn't quite enjoying it.  I did the whole playthrough undetected no kill no non-lethal, found all runes and bone charms.

I'm surprised at how it got a 9.0 score on Gamespot.  Although scores are not always accurate, I assume it was given because of the originality of the game.

Did anyone feel the same way I did?  Like something is missing?

Yes. I'm not sure why - maybe because it copied other games but never surpassed them, or maybe because of the completely prosaic story. I always had trouble being motivated to play, but I loved small moments that existed within the game. Dealing with Lydia was probably my favorite thing in the game because both options were both so psychologically twisted. Personally my review was an 8.4/0 with a stealth playthrough. I did want to play it again immediately after I finished, which is very rare for me, but I'm going to wait a while before I do.

Right now just my Delux edition and Mario. I will consider Zombiu, but I'm always a bit skeptical of Ubisoft titles because of how they treat PC players and their mixed quality games In the "launch window" I will get Rayman Legends for sure [Rayman Origins is fantastic] and I'll consider Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and less likely, Bayonetta 2 [if that's launch window, I have no idea].

GameboyTroy

Two incredibly ugly colors in the U.S. Red and blue.

Japan gets this lovely white

Looking for new IP's and they're not delivering on them for the most part. I'm also really tired of the scripeted events sections completely taking over games.

I did not enjoy the game from my time with beta, I'm glad you did, but I only found enjoyment from the Flashpoint instance, which I thought was great.

Everything else I found was at or below average for an MMO. In particular, the extreme linearity of the planets was frustrating, and while the game has great voice acting, the stories and presentation of the stories left much to be desired for me.

I feel this writeup represents my sentiments about the game best:

I hope those of you who plan to get the game have a great time.

Wasn't really impressed with today's sales or yesterday's sales, but did pick up Fallout NV and Portal 2. I had no intention of buying either of them but I couldn't refuse at that price.

In a recent PCGamer interview Ubisoft said the following regarding Ghost Recon.

"When we started Ghost Recon Online we were thinking about Ghost Recon: Future Solider; having something ported in the classical way without any deep development, because we know that 95% of our consumers will pirate the game. So we said okay, we have to change our mind."

It's frustrating to see companies continued attitudes towards the PC gamer market. It's interesting that they list a 95% piracy rate, I have no idea if that's true - personally doubt it - but while they complain about game sales on PC not being worth their time I blame their ridiculous game security details.

I'm not a game pirate, and I don't have interest in the Tom Clancy series of games, but I also avoid UBISOFT games in general on PC, and sometimes even on console:

UBISOFT is known to put out games with horrendous DRM requirements.

The downloads from their UBISTORE are only allowed once [I purchased Assassin's Creed 2 from the Ubistore on a sale but never got to touch it because I had to format my computer].

Their PC ports are often shoddy or poorly configured, and this leads me to generally avoid UBISOFT products as well [It's too bad they screwed up From Dust since I was interested in that].

They also don't strive to make the best game possible. Heroes VI, for example, a really beloved PC franchise was improved in unique ways by UBISOFT [beta testing], but then they failed to implement one of the most basic features of a Heroes game - townscreens. They also have ameaturish feeling UI's, horrendous voice acting, and on the UBISOFT forums you can read about players who are unable to finish the campaigns because of bugs that Ubisoft fails to fix in a timely manner. I have a friend who is a huge Heroes fan who says he can't play as the other races in multiplayer unless he can finish the campaign [something many players often don't care about]. I'm not sure if that's a bug or intended, but it's a horrendous design decision if intended.

If they put high levels of care and polish into their games they would generate higher sales, but from my opinion I'm too terrified of their quality level track record to purchase their games, unless they're at the bottom of the bargain bin [Heroes V + xpacs for $5], and then when I do buy them I see their box contains nothing but the CD, which isn't even packaged well for protection [purchased at Amazon, so its a legitimate copy]. Other games that Ubisoft releases are terrific in concept, and maybe even execution [Child of Eden [console release]] but fail to deliver in the length of experience. Child of Eden clocks in at a whopping one hour.

Ubisoft isn't a small company, but there are plenty of small companies that succeed on the PC platform - for example CDProjekT has really made a name for themselves with the Witcher - have very minimal DRM influences, which they usually remove, and they sell plenty of PC copies. Larger PC developers, like Bethesda, also have immense successes with games such as Skyrim [which requires Steam for installation but prior to the patch did not], which reached 280,000 concurrent users.

I know I probaby don't matter, but it's always insulting to me to see these "we don't care about you because we know you're stealing from us" rather than focusing on the people that are willing to pay for games. I have a large 5 shelf bookshelf that is filled with game boxes, and a closet with boxes filled with old game boxes. If you really want to know how to get people to buy your games stop making the piracy scapegoat and talk to people who purchase PC games, like me, and what they expect from their purchase; and listen to your series' fanbases. Ubisoft has some amazing IP's that often just end up being trash because of sloppy and failed execution.

Yes, it has been the worst year so far for games that I can personally remember.

I have purchased an all time low of one new release this year [Mortal Kombat]. I would have had two other games to add to that list [Xenoblade, Last Story], but they weren't released in the US, so this also marks the first year that I can remember of owning a console and not purchasing a game on it all year [I won't be able to purchase Zelda because I won't be able to play it due to medical issues until next year].

Then games are oddly stuffed together this winter, and so stuffed that games go up on the "chopping block".

There aren't a LOT of games that I'm interested in this winter, but the ones that I are are major time suckers:

Battlefield 3 and Skyrim being two major time-suckers that do come out this year.

Early next year Tribes Ascend and Diablo are added to that list.

On the console side I am interested in Uncharted 3 and Zelda for release this year, and next year I'm interested in Twisted Metal and SSX.

Some other games I gave consideration to this year include Deus Ex, and was planning on purchasing Witcher 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic 6 while on sale, perhaps this Christmas.

This list is pretty small, but because of Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Diablo 3, and Tribes, nearly everything else is getting relegated to the "back log", or a "Won't purchase". This is just a failure of game companies to attempt to release their games throughout the year, rather than continuing to compact them into the holiday season. Had the games been spread out throughout the year, I would end up purchashing essentially all of these games, but because they're all compacted into a 3 month spread, I'm going to be purchasing less than half of them at full price, and some I might not be purchasing at all.

In hindsight, I'm pretty glad it happened that way since my house was hit with a major storm and yard required months of repair work [still going on now, but I can't participate any longer because of a medical condition], but that doesn't change the fact that it was the worst year in gaming that I can remember.

I think for a while the game was overhyped in the media, but for me my interest level is very low on it.
