@wexorian @simsumre @prats93

Plus if he waits a few years, the PS4 might finally get some decent exclusive games.

@LiquidGold

It got perfect scores from Eurogamer, Destructoid, Joystiq, Edge, and three other publications so far.

IGN gave it a 9.5, GameInformer gave it a 9, and it's sitting on a 91 on Metacritic at the moment.

Gamespot's review score seems to be right on the money this time around.

They talk about it in the review:

"...Bayonetta, who--despite suffering crotch shots and blatant innuendos--remains one of the most charismatic and powerful heroines in the medium. There are none of the sleazy moments that peppered the likes of Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer Is Dead; the sexualisation here serves to empower, not to belittle."

@simsumre So if someone reviews a great game and enjoyed it, they're disqualified from reviewing the sequels?

That doesn't make any sense.

@starhowl @TehUndeadHorror How so?

Bayonetta 1 was utterly brilliant, and widely praised by just about everyone.

Bayonetta 2 seems to have topped it. Having played the demo, I can see this being an instant classic.

A 10/10 score doesn't seem too odd for one of the best action games ever made.

Aw man, I would be all over this if it wasn't an Xbox One exclusive.

Deadly Premonition was honestly one of my favourite games of the previous generation - and I can't tell if that's because of, or in spite of, how terrible the gameplay was!

Also, if the reviewer wants to poke holes into narratives or ridiculous depictions of enemies...he definitely shouldn't put Harry Potter on any kind of pedestal.

That's a series where the most evil and deadly wizards in the world are defeated by a bunch of schoolkids *every single year*, thanks to a series of implausible coincidences, macguffins, deus ex machinas, and really stupid villains.

The reviewer doesn't know what he wants:

"Yet Dead Rising 3 reiterates the common lesson of zombie fiction: that in a world where the majority of the population eats brains, the salient dangers are still posed by your fellow man."

[...]

" It's a cruel portrayal, and superfluous besides: in a game that's ostensibly about zombies, shouldn't the zombies be scary enough on their own?"

So...the reviewer understands that the real threat of zombie stories are the survivors and not the zombies...but then complains that the survivors take centre stage over the ineffectual zombies? That doesn't make any sense.

As for their depictions...was the reviewer aware that the Dead Rising series has always featured the psychopaths as extreme caricatures of American stereotypes? Next he'll be saying that the zombies themselves are offensive, since they're a cruel analogy to the general population as mindless consumers...

@usernameonetwo It's a free game. It won't be in any bundles.

Also, if you only enjoy 1 out of every 100 indie games you buy...why would you keep buying bundles? That seems quite idiotic, when you can simply buy the many (many!) bundles that largely contain great games.

On the plus side, we're also getting a surprise Gabriel Knight 20th Anniversary remake. GK1 is in my personal top ten games of all time, so even a half-hearted remake will be worth the pledge.

As for this one...I'll have to play it and decide for myself. I've seen four and a half star reviews and 4/10 reviews. I have no idea what to expect!
