I wish these games were a little more spaced out in release dates...

Anyway reaching the end of Fable 2. It was/is an awesome game with an outstanding amount of detail and polish. Far more polish than oblivion but about 1/1000 the content. In short Fable 2 was a rare treat and an AWESOME RPG. Now on to FallOut 3 the object of my hearts desire for a few years... Oblivion with gunz in the fallout universe... Im so ready for it.

I can't help but thinking Fable 2 while short :/ set the bar really high...

Well conscidering that movies are first and foremost about characters, Gears would trump the ever living hell out of Halo as there was some character development in Gears and none in Halo. Master Chief has no character at all. The other characters in Halo are also seriously .5 dimensional. Don't get me wrong Halo is a great game but it intentionally removed any and all character traits from it's main character to aid in immersion. It works "OK" in a game but it would be disasterous for a movie or a novel.

As for which had more straight up plot. Sure Halo has more plot than Gears, but if it's going to be an interesting movie I'd hope the plot would be *new and not a rehash of the game plots.

Personal Computing may not always be a desktop or laptop. However, people will always have the need for personal computing power. Infact the trend overtime will see a sort of arms race for more and more personal computing power not unlike what can be seen now in the have's vs have not in multiplayer gaming environment where connection speed and graphics processing can make a significant differance in pwn%.

Given that people's need for personal computing power will only increase, and given the fact that people love playing games. I forsee no threat to PC gaming. However, our definition and the physical reality of personal computing will change drastically in the future.

easy answer? get em both.

killerfist

Both games are truly awesome. However, Oblivion gives you FAR more BANG for your buck. If your short enough on cash not to just buy both... get Oblivion... Oblivion can last forever if your not "hell bent" on finishing it. If you attack Oblivion's main story line exclusively its still twice or three times longer than Gears of War (who's only downfall was it's brevity)
