This is slightly off topic, but does any one know of a mod that removes weapon and armor durability from Oblivion? I want to replay the game again, but this time without all the things that annoy me.

I mean, you could go into the console command and just type in tgm for god mode. I mean...if you beat the game already, why not? haha. There should be some mods out there. I found this one, Doesn't fully stop your weapons from breaking, but slows it down greatly. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/21504-relz-fatal-oblivion-104/

I mean, I do see where breakable weapons will be missed by the hardcore Elder Scroll fans. It just gives you that sense of realism. Its just like in real life with guns man. Always has to be cleaned and maintained. My only beef was how FAST the weapons broke down. I personally will not miss this feature, because I was left Nerd Raging many times in Oblivion when my best weapon would break during a boss fight or during an insane fight against 4 people. I didn't however like the whole carrying a certain amount of items. Its worse enough that wearing heavy armor slows you down already, but you couldn't even fast travel if you had too much stuff on you. Maybe they will go the Fallout New Vegas route and add in a Hardcore/Realism mode, where weapons break over time and such.

Well, the specs may be outdated by your terms and most games only require 2 gigs of ram anyway. I just threw in one of my cards into it and my girl is rocking left 4 dead 2, near full settings with no kind of problems. My fault for posting in the wrong section, was able to take care of this situation. thanks all.

Excuse me, I misread what you wrote. I apologize. But again, Story and characters: FFVII >/< FFXIII?

Double_Wide

It is funny that FFVII and FFXIII have some common story elements. FFVII is about a chase and you are the one chasing. In FFXIII, you are the one being chased.

FFVII is just a chase against a man that cause problems and hurt some of them. Sure there is some religious back ground but in the end it is a story about revenge and stopping a mad man. Over all I say the theme is about accepting the past but not allowing it to control you.

FFXIII you are being chased. While they are being chased, they start to question their culture. As they struggle with curse, they learn more about how the world is. They soon find themselves going into a fight to change what has happen to them. Over all I say the theme is about will you be apart of the machine or not. There also a bit of the ideal that just because all the evidence point at something, it does not mean it is true. I like how the story start thirteen days before the game start.

As for the characters, I for that FFVII character just seam a little goofy or out of place. Some seam to be just added to the team to fill a game play role.

I found that I enjoy watching FFXIII characters so much more. They all seam to have a reason to be in apart of the party. I enjoy seeing them grow and are a little less over the top.

Wow, I'm amazed you got that much out of FFXIII's story because most of the details are in the in-game index. No offense, but I perfer my stories rolled out the old fashion way...coherently told with a backstory that I can actually see and experience. In FFXIII, it just throws us in the middle of what appears to be the story's climax and somehow expects people to relate to the characters somehow when we just barely know what's going on. And instead of visually backtracking, we have to read about the backstory to understand all the terms and what exactly is going on in general...that's just lazy storytelling. FFVII did begin players in the middle of a Avalanche heist but it actually took the time to give us the backstory not just for the overall plot but for the majority of the characters as well.

FFVII character's seemed goofy and out of place?! Vanhille is shouting "HELLO" as loud as possible! What gameplay role would that be where some party members were just added to fill? Because I remember a good 75% of the game, the entire party being completely spit up and even when together, everyone had pretty much the ability to do the same thing (besides some being stronger with other jobs and individual summons).

FFXIII's characters were so shallow, recycled, cliched and 2 dimensional...they either complained too much (Hope), needed ridlin (Vanhille), acted like they were on their period the whole time (Lightening), or was just a total idiot (Snow). Sazh is one of the only characters that really had any depth and Fang tried too hard to be the "Balthier" of the group.

I've definately experience better characters and storytelling from the FF series and I barely see any comparison between it and FFVII in these respects

haha, I think a Gun Arm with nowhere to put ammo into it is more goofy then someone screaming Hello.

Need some help fellas. pretty much had a computer built for my girl, she likes to get her PC gaming on. Thing is, there was no Video Card put in. I've searched for many hours online trying to figure out what would be a good video card and all i've found was forums of people asking about clocking their computers? I just need a few suggestions on a good card. Here are the specs, which I know by "todays" standards arent good.

Intel(r) Core(TM) 2 CPU 6300@ I.86GHz along with 2 gigs of ram

Windows 7 is being used

and it does have an high definition sound card as well, I just don't know the name.

Suprisngly, it can run a lot of great games with great graphics, we just have no Video Card. Any ideas?

Oh Square, I still aprreciate your work and effort and will always support you no matter how bad the game is. They pretty much got me into RPGS. And I always hate when people say "What Square REALLY needs to do is something fresh, and that is a remake of Final Fantasy 7" That is in no way, refreshing or new. Personally, I think they shouldn't remake that game at all. preserve its greatness. Not to mention, It would take YEARS to even remake a game of that scale. All the areas you have to explore, all the towns ect, It would take many years and cost a lot of money. Remember, It doesn't sound like much money now, but back then, just to create that game, It cost over 45 million dollars to make which is the equivilant of 65 million dollars in todays age. So I can only imagine what it would cost to even remake that game to the point of it being a strict remake from the ground up. Thats just my personal view. Why waste money remaking a game that could be a hit or miss today (FF7 fanboys are VERY passionate about this game) when you could focus on bring back Xenogears, the Chrono Series and even making a new IP. Thats what Square need to do. Not remake games, Give Final Fantasy a rest for a few years and focus on new IPs while going back to old ones that have a story to still tell.
