@Triton: I do..but on a 55" Oled. But i understand where you're coming from.

Ideally a 32" size model is perfect for the pc/desk type setup.

@hardcoregamer1: I have the Sony A1E Oled myself and without a doubt the contrast of an oled is unmatched. Actually the motion(using BFI) is the best ever on any 4K tv which is why i choose it over the LG C7. It's near perfect...except for one problem, the input lag on it is 30ms(and 21ms on the LG C7) and going back to my Benq with DyAc (basically the same as ULMB) i get much lower input lag and that's huge for online shooters.

But here is the key to motion issues on LED's: The only way you can get OLED or Plasma type motion is using Lightboost/ULMB type of BFI, but it cannot be used with G-Sync.

And the only way i can get fluid motion on a BenQ is if i match my fps to the monitor's. That's not a problem in say BF1 @ 1080p or even 1400p(i use a Titan Pascal oc'ed) but it's simply impossible to play in 4K/120fps or 4K/100fps on any current single gpu.(ie..Titan Xp or 1080TI) and i doubt even the upcoming 2018 Nvidia top gpu (1180 TI?) will nail 4K/ultra/100+ fps).

Basically OLed 4K's right now are closer to this type of large format monitor, because i max out most games in 4K now and even at 60fps(locked) it's motion is far smoother then any g sync LED.

I do believe however that the 'Holy Grail" is this type of monitor paired with a 2019 top tier gpu, as input lag on an Oled is still too high for competetive online shooters.

btw: Personally i could care less as i play pc online shooters(BF1/PUBG) using a gamepad on my Sony Oled and still can hold my own. Plus it looks stunning...even in death ;)

@Trickymaster: You're right, i was thinking the same thing. For what games like DE:MD tries to do, it needs it's own review scale.

As a huge fan of DE series since the original(2000' pc, played it till the end of 100 times), it always seems like all four games don't nail..everything[ie..HL2].

This time it's the storyline, which was the best part of the original. Now..i was not a huge fan of HR, as map design was weak and i'm still looking for the worthy sequel to the original.

But..even with it's weaker storyline then the original, i'm thinking MD is the closest we will get to a true sequel of one of the best games..ever.

Still, for once i'd like to see one DE game nail every single aspect. Just once..

btw: Will be playing this on an I7, SSd, and Titan-X(Pascal) in 4K..and i hope it runs at 60fps.

Being A+ certified and having a MCEE, here's all i do..software wise.

-Each time you shut down you're pc..or close browsers and play a game or do some coding..ect:

--Run ccleaner two times. Once will clean most of the registry, twice will clean it in full

--Run Malwarebytes. This is the single best way to stop/clean any infections on you're pc.

Note: You do not need to use any virus protection software, if you run malwarebytes.

--Run Disk Defrag. every week, get rid of all sorts of bloatware, use adblocker, if using an SSD try to make sure you always have 25% free..ect [there are way too many more to list]

My point: It's not time consuming and doing all these..and more to keep you're pc running well(software wise).

@techdemon: In many ways i feel like you do. Perhaps it's that iv'e been gaming since pong..and the fps genre since Wolf 3D has been pretty much the same, with the exceptions of HL1 & 2, Bioshock, Deus Ex(the original) and a few others.

Likewise i demand a storyline, which is why i strongly recommend you play the original Bioshock, as for me, along with HL2, it was the best story driven fps in the 2000's.

The BF series has been the only online game i ever got into, but without a clan or playing on a good server[with all using voice], there is just far too many solo players.

Perhaps it's the obsession to have a high k/d ratio? And this started with BF3.

There was far better team play back in the early 2000's with BF 1942 then there has been since BF3.

But solo play wise, if you demand a good story, Deus Ex(the original), HL2, and Bioshock [1] , are must plays.

And Deus Ex [the original] can be played killing nobody.

Good luck!

Let me state this, as i have both the DK1 and DK2, and i could have pre-ordered eithier one, but i chose the Vive.

Still i must emphasize, that the Rift or Vive choice is what fits YOU the best.

For me, using the DK2's heavier headset and many cables connected to my pc..add in my wireless 7.1 headset, was well worth the VR experience. If you have not experienced VR, please don't judge it, as you just don't understand how stunning an experience this really can be. (if done right)

Why did i opt for the Vive?

In using the DK2, the XBox 1 controller just made me lose some immersion in apps and games, and ..trust me, the more you use VR, the more you WILL want VR touch controllers.

The $200 for me is a better deal on the Vive, as Oculus will price it's controllers in the $100 range, so now it's a difference of $100..if not lower.

The Rift lacks the front camera that the Vive uses so you can view reality..and trust me, you WANT to see where things are in reality, even if your sitting down. (ie..mouse and keyboard or connections of a cord..ect)

The Rift lacks this, and i don't see them adding it in, unless there is a CV2 model in say 2017.

While, the Vive has that all OOTB.

Also..here is what swung me over completely: I have a friend whom was showing both at a local campus, and using the Vive, was what everyone demoing it was raving over most..me included.

To move around in reality 1:1 as in VR, adds so much more presence in VR, and to go back to sitting only, does feel like a big step backwards.

Still, like i first stated, it's a matter of preference, as if you don't have the min. space of 6.5 X 5, then your handcuffing the Vive's potential. Add to that, if you don't want to use added headphones, the Rift's are built in.

But for me, i have a decent space(7 x 6 if i move one recliner, and up to 14 X 6 if i move my couch). I always game with my wireless 7.1 headset so i have no want/need of a built in cheaper type, and i know from experience that using a controller in VR takes away from that presence. Add to it the front facing camera to make sure your not banging your knees/arms on something..even while sitting, as that happened FAR too often to me using the DK2.

Now that's my opinion..but i have alot of experience using different VR headsets. The Vive may be a bit more of a hassle to set up and use, but it's giving a better VR experience and more features as well.

I'll update my view on this when i get my pre-order shipped in the next week or so.

Eithier way..if you are on the fence as to which to buy, just think about what you need, as it's still a matter of preference.

Good Luck!

@DimitreusX: I really hope your right about this for both the Rift and Vive, as using the VR desktop on the DK2, the resolution and crispness on the desktop made it hard to get most things done.

Granted the DK2 optics were 1080p only, where the new one's are 1200p, but compared to a good IPS panel of 1440p or even 4K, i could not get much done with that VR desktop. It was 'cute' for a while, but i quickly went back to my 1440p/165hz monitor, soon after.

@tag1000: It is here to stay, but it needs to mature alot more to where all genre's can deliver great experiences. Your dead on about Elite, it's an amazing experience(by far the best i had with the DK2, game wise). But that's a seated game and fits VR perfectly and one where it's a flight stick is almost needed.

For my experience with the DK2 and GearVR, it's here to stay for sure, but honestly, it's not ready for prime time, just yet.

And i'm a huge VR fanatic, but i'm just being honest here. [heck i have a Vive due in April as well..lol]
