Remember when a game called Tomb Raider was selling like cupcakes and made it popular to have a strong female lead character in a video game?

Examples:

April Ryan (The Longest Journey)

Rynn (Drakan: Order of the Flame & Drakan: The Ancients¨' Gate)

Joanna Dark (Perfect Dark)

Cate Archer (No One Lives Forever)

Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)

Jade (Beyond Good & Evil)

.and many more...

I miss those days. The gaming industry is dead to me now.

(By the way, I'm a guy myself)

That's not the problem. The problem is the fact that they're forcing people to be connected to the internet all the time, even if they're playing the single-player mode. This constant internet connection has several problems:

1: It doesn't make any sense why one should be connected to the internet just so they canplay the single player mode (multiplayer is a different story)

2: Since you have to be online all the time, a reliable broadband is required. Even if you have one, the connection isn't always that good and the game lags.

3: The progress you make in the game is saved on the game company's servers. If they crash you lose your progress. It's like finding out your memory card is corrupt.

4: If the servers should be permanently shut down for some reason (i.e the company that made the game has gone outof buisness) nobody will be able to play the game anymore.
