@Pedro: Success comes with heavy marketing and clever business model. Sony was pretty active on pretending that those didn't exist.

I don't think that the state of Playstation (or gaming) is pathetic. If we exclude all the crap and greed, there are still way more great games than time to play them, especially in the indie scene.

I do agree that Sony have been wasting some of their best opportunities, though. For me the best products they have released in the last decade are Dreams and PSVR2. Stuff they should be moving mountains to keep alive.

Should have been at launch. Still good news that Sony is finally understanding the power of releasing stuff on PC. Dreams should go next.
