@bluefire1360 Who cares about developers when no one wants to buy the console? Eventually it'll be like the WiiU; no company will develop for it.

Wait they gauged ZoE on the HD Collection sales!? I STILL play my PS2 version of ZoE2. Besides, I heard the HD Collection was a half-assed attempt to re-cash-in without much difference, considering the original PS2 version still looks absolutely beautiful -- why buy another copy that doesn't improve anything?

Didn't mention they are already working on the MMORPG Reboot Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn due for release Q3 2013.

@Konuvis @OrleanKnight Don't forget that Square is paying out of pocket for the complete rebuild of the game AND is honoring already purchased copies by making the box purchase free for all current owners of the original FFXIV. So yes, Square is taking a bit hit for FFXIV in all ways possible.

Yet FFXIV is also the first games in a long time which actually feels like it does belong in the Final Fantasy universe and deserves to wear the title. Let's hope more "real" Final Fantasy titles come following. And I also believe the reason why no one is hearing crap about Type-0 or whatever, is because I believe that's been scrapped entirely too. If it is released sometime, it'll likely not wear a FF title or maybe the assets are being used for some other game.

@Konuvis Because now that game has been scrapped and doesn't exist anymore. There is a new, and much better FFXIV called A Realm Reborn coming out soon which is not under Wada's influence.

@andrescapo_ @Jacen22 Which is absolutely fine. They aren't trying to appeal to everyone. If you don't like it then don't pay for it. But you are welcome to try it out as it will have Beta Tests and Buddy Passes as usual. Only pay for what you like.

@Jacen22 A lot of people seem to think that "Free to Play" is the way to play these days. They always site World of Warcraft and Star Wars the Old Republic. Yet no one talks about Final Fantasy XI which is still going strong on its subscription model with a new expansion due in march. Final Fantasy fans will continue to pay subscription models and there are enough of them to support the game. Those who got in early get to pay at a discount of $10 a month versus the standard $15, so they already have a strong base number of users who are more than willing to pay that price. New people to the fold will need to chalk up the extra change though.

Don't forget if you've purchased the game before you get this version of the game completely free with perks and an additional free trial. So don't feel like they are trying to cheat you out of your dollar a second time around. Heck they are even honoring the Beta Codes from the original Final Fantasy 13 PS3 boxes. So far they aren't striving to make anything really revolutionary in the MMO market, they are trying to make a fun and solid MMO that just does what current MMOs have done right all along - and for FFXIV that's a really good thing.

This is what happens when Capcom doesn't make more REAL Monster Hunter games and just decides to shovel them into repeat-ports for weaker systems. PS3 would have been a great platform to launch a MH on, oh well -- that time has come and gone. We will now witness Capcom swiftly falling from grace.
