@R_Mckay I agree that the fission of both games would really give good results if done properly. There are a lot of things I want to see imported from DA2, including a speaking main character, more memorable companions/conversations, and the skill cooldowns system opposed to mana/stamina expenditure, which I think is far easier to balance out. Witcher will always have a reserved place for me :)
The reason they are introducing DA keep (at least partly) because they had a hard time figuring out how to make the save files importable, and they didn't wan't to lose the the ability for players to shape their own DA world through previous DA choices. Since, my saves are long since lost, I welcome this approach :) Although, it's downside is that you will be exposed to spoilers from previous DAs.
And since everyone is mentioning DA2, I can't seem to agree with all the bashing it has been getting. The combat is 2 steps up the ladder better, and the story is just as good. The characters felt much more alive comparing to other DAs. They only thing I outright hated was the recycling of the same area designs, without any effort to hide it. Glad that has been addressed in the DAI.
