I once worked at an EB Games, eventually getting promoted to store manager. Stressful, but fun enough to keep truckin'. EB eventually got bought by Gamestop, the holidays arrived, the corporate hammer fell, at which point I blacked out for a couple weeks of what I have to assume was misery...the 15 hour days, 14 days in a row ran me pretty dry. I woke up in January only to find that upper management wanted me to fire my staff for a "fresh start, just because, the customers like fresh stuff, blah blah," which was ridiculous, considering how hard these already trained staff memebers were pushed in the holidays. I gave my staff warning of how we were going to be treated, then gave the ungrateful company the finger and quit, no regrets. Moral?
There are tons of short term holiday jobs out there...find one of them instead of Gamestop. Maybe they have changed over the years, but I'll never give them another chance.
