Stopped reading at Untitled Goose Game and started throwing money at the screen. Been following this (really) stupid game for over year and had no idea it was releasing this weekend, excited to finally check it out!

@gargungulunk: Switch has really found it's own in that "fills the small voids" kind of hybrid gaming that has complimented my main console or PC gaming lifestyle, with many stellar full-price games as well. I'm really loving it lately, and it's not slowing anytime soon. Good time to be a gamer!

@gargungulunk: THIS^! I'm amazed how this gen has dropped the ball on fun, trick, arcade-meets-skill sport games in the spectrum of Tony Hawk, Skate, SSX and such. A few here and there, but nowhere near as prominent, which is crazy because the genre (to me) exudes the classic feeling of what a "video game" can be.

@uninspiredcup: Yeah, that's some odd logic. I'd consider rebooting a failed franchise or creating something original instead. I don't know who necessarily wants this. People who aren't into Battlestar didn't care then and won't care now, and people who ARE, will likely agree this isn't needed. As a fan of the series, I can easily rewatch it (helps that it's relatively bite-sized), and if I'm feeling more of the classic sci-fi camp, I can watch the original series.

The Chef Show is great. Simple and fun, just good conversation, normalizing celebrities while whipping up good food, and Favreau's humbleness is entertaining as hell, especially contrasting Choi's brashness and humor. Just felt very authentic, I'm looking forward to season 2!

@tsunami2311: Have you had a chance to check out the current demo at game shows? I didn't want to presume, thought I'd ask. I was also very skeptical, preferring the turn-based strategy of classic entries over the chaotic hack-n-slash of XV. That said, I got a chance to play the demo at PAX last week, and I have to say, I was completely sold. I thought the action parts of combat were very weighty and responsive, and being able to change characters on the fly for different strategies was great. Most impressive was the way they implemented the ATB system to stop time and scroll through your skills, magic, items, limit breaks and such. I thought it was a perfect homage to that classic turn based strategy, and it felt like those decisions made the most impact in battle, more than the action attacks. I felt they were mixed perfectly, and somehow it felt very authentically Final Fantasy VII, if that makes sense, and I came away very impressed with my worries completely gone.

@Bread_or_Decide: I hear ya. I love pretty graphics and such, but sometimes, especially when a game nears the 100-hour mark, it's nice to be able to attack it in bite sizes here and there. I simply don't have as much "sit down in front of screen" game-time like I used to, so if portability makes the game at all an option for me, it's a plus in my book.

An obvious downgrade for those who've already played it, but to those who can only pick it up on Switch or prefer the portability, this looks like a great port!

@attirex: The devs have pulled a 180 on it, the game is now considered a successful redemption, and the majority of the community is enjoying it. Far from a fail, nobody is giving up.

This game, along with the rest of the SteamWorld series, is rather fantastic at times, I'm glad the devs are adding small bits to it. It can get a little grindy in patches, but I think the pacing is pretty good overall. I've really enjoyed it, it's a fun take on RPG deck-building, with TONS of customization and charm. I still think SteamWorld Heist is my overall favorite (ricochet gun-slinging 2-D XCOM in space? yes please!), but this is still a strong entry.
