@lordransolaire: Why would you assume that? Just becaue THPS was first?

Skate is very different from THPS and skating as a sport has existed a lot longer than THPS. So honestly, I think Skate could've very well happened without THPS. But that is irrelevant to this thread

@wiouds: That could be the problem in my eyes. Gamers want THPS while skaters want SKATE.

I think realism is the key, not the culture. Both THPS and AMPED 3 tried to match skateboarding and snowboarding cultures from a humoristic point of view and it didn't work. The sports are hard, difficult and take a lot of nerver to do those tricks and I wish that would show on the games.

Focusing too much on the cultural content made both of these series lose their track of the real subject.

I'd love a snowboard and skateboard game where I could develop my skater from a newbie to an x game professional competitioner or just a free style park roaming hippo.

If they wanted to create a huge game, they could always make a wide community, online even, where every player could choose from skateboard, bmx, scooters, rollerblades, etc. But that'd require a lot of work of course

THPS is surely a big part of our history, but in all honestly, it should stay there. Don't make another THPS in an attempt to bring back some nostalgia, THPS simply doesn't work these days! It's unrealistic and players want realism. Realism is something that the EA Skate series introduced us to. If you want to make a new THPS, you have to take a new direction, which is realism. Also, for the love of God finish the game before publishing it!

Skate 4 is the thing everybody wants. Skate series have been the most realistic skate games without forgetting the fun part. I mean sure they have their unrealistic moments, but it doesn't have to be that strict to the realism, but not as over the top as THPS either.

I can think of these over the top games, and they don't work. Look at Amped, moved to Amped 3. What a dull mess that has nothing to do with snowboarding. THPS. First skateboarding game ever, it worked in the past, but look at it now. People don't want that! REALISM is the key!

I'm playing Be a GM on hardcore and second hardest difficulty. I rocked the ai on nhl 15 with this setup but now I cant. The computer is surprisingly good with sticks. Over half of my passes are cut and they steal your puck very easily, doesnt feel like you can be quick enough to avoid their sticks. Anyone else?

Considering that they've probably done the best superhero game ever, imo, they should either make something new like Last of Us or continue with what they're good at. I'd really love a great spiderman game.

Hi there guys.

I was wondering if there is any possible way to get NHL 14 for PC? I know NHL 09 is the last hockey game you can purchase for PC, but I was wondering if the computer magicians have found a way to play NHL 14 on PC? Online is not required for me.

Despite of all the negative reviews of Unity, I enjoyed it. I've played all the "main" AC games plus Brotherhood and Revelations. I've enjoyed them all, but number 2 is probably my favorite one. I missed the real life sections in AC: Black Flag and especially Unity, as it had basically none of them. Black Flag was definitely the superior one when comparing to Unity, but Unity was still great fun. I think they brought Paris alive pretty well and it did feel like you were living in revolutionary Paris.

I'm definitely looking forward to the new AC.

Yes the THPS back in the day was magnificent and I think anyone playing them then will feel some bits of nostalgy even with this new one. And they've already stated they'll bring back some of the most memorable missions, for instance collecting letters in the weirdest places, doing insane combos, etc.

But I also would love a more realistic skating game. They could have a "realistic mode" for THPS, where you could simply free roam or something. Imo that'd be cool as well.

Hi there.

What do you guys think about the upcoming THPS?

We skaters have been long waiting for a new skateboarding game. Originally I fell in love with the THPS series, it became legendary. However, as soon as the EA SKATE games came along, THPS fell short big time.

Basically everyone I know is hoping for a EA SKATE 4, but instead we get this THPS5. Not only does it look bad, which is always something fairly easy to overcome, even though it doesn't even look like a next gen game. But! The gameplay is again the same type of play where you push speed once to jump on a box but end up grinding phone lines 100 miles per hour.

That being said I'll most likely skip this one, despite of really wanting a new SKATE game. What's your thoughts?
