Was the reviewer playing the same game as I was? This game is one of the scariest I've played in a while. Each zombie encounter is a true fight for survival. The only thing I didn't like about the game was indeed the melee combat system (I think a crowbar, hammer, or something upgradeable would have been better then a cricket bat). But that was my only dislike about it. This game reinvigorated survival horror for me.

Also - MGS4's cutscenes were stupidly long. We don't need any 90 minute cutscenes.

I loved MGS3, but yeah. It has the absolute worst villain in the entire series. If Volgin wasn't there at all and it was just The Boss, it would have been 100x more epic.

I highly doubt that Nintendo cares much about the bore-fest that is Call of Duty anymore. Nintendo has it's own franchises and all of Ubisoft to fall back on, not to mention Gearbox, Namco Bandai, and THQ.

Pachter is out of touch, if you ask me.

I'll wait a while on ORC, but RE6 will likely be a must buy for me. But I what the article brings up about character strength rings true. If you have a character who can mow down hordes of zombies, bare handed even, then where is the horror?

Let the developer make the game they want to make. It's up to us if it's enjoyable or not. I'd rather there be more focus on gameplay, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the story.

Well said. The Gears of War 3 bundle and Skyrim bundle were both what, $150? For what exactly? Some cheaply made statue. It's hard enough justifying $60 on a game, let alone $150 on a piece of resin.

I loved every Zelda game I played, but I think I prefer Twilight Princess the most, with Link To The Past a *very* close second. I think the Zelda series has the possibility of being Nintendo's more "grown up" series.
