Ouch, that's a might harsh don't 'cha think? I've only experienced one,or two small glitches, but nothing that effects the gameplay. Replay value is very high. As far as the lip syncing goes, yeah,it's not L.A. Noire, but i'm old school, and it reminds me of Baulder's Gate.WonderingWookie

I think that's what they were going for. That whole old school type of dialogue desynchronization.

I've been a Street Fighter fan since Street Fighter Alpha 2. I enjoyed Street Fighter 4 but after a while I moved on. Besides, I wasn't too happy with the various different versions Capcom was dishing out, despite them being my favorite dev/publisher. I also like Marvel vs Capcom. Those are my favorites of the 2-D style fighters.

However, Dead or Alive has always been my favorite 3-D style fighter, and I have my fair share of fighting games. I'm not necessarily "beast" at them or whatever, I just play them for fun. I don't compete for this and that or what have you. It's just not as fun to me. I've played and own every single DOA game released, except those on handhelds. As avid as I used to be about other fighters, at some point I drifted to games like Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur.

That said, I wasn't too thrilled with Dead or Alive 4. It felt, I don't know... different, and not in the good way either. The biggest downside of the game for me was the countering system. It seemed more like a guessing game than actual skill. Plus, the online was extremely laggy when it was first released and so people just spammed combos that could juggle you into oblivion. Not to mention everyone overused Ryu Hayabusa, ugh.

Anyway, I think Dead or Alive 3 was, and still is, the best fighting game ever made. It was perfect, in my honest opinion. Well, as perfect as any man-made product can be.

However, after playing the Dead or Alive 5 demo a few times, I think DOA5 could be as good as DOA3, given they stay the course. Nothing felt off to me, like in DOA4. So, I have high hopes for the franchise again. My only concern is I pray they don't make the game too simplified, like they did with Ninja Gaiden III. >.>

I read somewhere that there's going to be like 25 characters in the game and that only a "few" Virtua Fighter characters were being added.

In fact, I went ahead and found the supposed roster, which I've listed below. Now, this could just be speculation, but supposedly it's from the hacked demo files. Either way, if it's true, there's no telling what could change between now and release day.

Looks like the entire DOA cast is returning except Ein (Hayate's alter ego) and Tengu (along with some of the other boss characters). Spartan-458 is obviously absent as well.

Im finding this game pretty adictive. Currently on my second playthough

thingta42

Yeah, I'm still on my second one, about to finish it in the coming week or so. I've put more hours into this game than Oblivion and Skyrim combined, yet comparitively there isn't as much content in Dragon's Dogma. It's just that much fun to play the game and kill bosses and mess with all the gear.

It's slightly more flawed than the Elder Scrolls games, but hardly the most flawed game ever, much less "one" of the most flawed. It has problems, but only a few are gamebreakers, same with Elder Scrolls games.

Unsheathing your weapon a number of times works too, if they haven't hit max affinity and don't have the pink cloud around them. Once they do, you have to do physical harm, it seems.

Once. I fought the Gen 63 Ur-Dragon twice. Once for a while before he flew off and said screw it and went to bed. Then, I fought him again the next morning during what may have been his grace period, which I guess still allows you to kill him. Though he still had quite a bit of health if so, lol.

For weapons and armor to actually use? I'm not sure. There's so much of it that's not post-game. I mostly just used what I could buy or happened across, until I got to the Dragon.

There's also a trick to farming the chests in the Everfall that involves saving before a chest location and then using an item you receive from the dragon, should the desired 2% armor or weapon not appear upon first try.

I've been lucky enough to only have two stubborn items so far, out of the 12 that I've farmed just during my current playthrough. Most of the time I spend 30 minutes max farming an item. Though sometimes it's merely a few seconds, lol.
