I'll play both , but Horizon Forbidden West for me. The first game was in my top 5 favorites of last generation. Fighting the machines was so cool and so much fun. Great gameplay , visuals , premise , setting , lore , art direction , sound design , etc. I liked some of the character too , Aloy , Rost , Teersa , Sylens , Nil , etc.It also helps that it is more story/character based and I don't want much spoiled. I'll be off the internet as much as I can for a few weeks.
With Forbidden West, Guerrilla seems to have taken a good amount of criticisms of Zero Dawn to heart , and are pushing themselves to make the formula even better.
- Much improved human enemy AI , hit detection/hit reactions , melee , and some ride/control machines
- Much improved character models , motion capture , facial animations
- More traversal/exploration options - glider , grapple hook , underwater , more climable/vaultable things , more ridable machines
- More involved sidequests and more time spent with side characters , and better rewards
- More skill trees and more skills. Some of the skills can be leveled up. Each skill tree has a battle surge (special ability) too. Leveling of weapons and armour. Bigger weapon wheel too.
- Improved settlements
It's pretty rare for me to get this excited about a game. I expect a fantastic game.
Elden Ring can wait a little.
