@frank_castle: I can tell the games just aren't for you, then. That's fine. Keep in mind, you're playing games by a Japanese developer, so the story will sometimes be convoluted and bizarre. That's typical. What makes Hideo Kojima's stories special are his plot twists, American symbolism's, interesting boss fights, great espionage gameplay, and tongue-and-check humor. There is literally no other game like it. Yes, some come close (Syphon Filter, Splinter Cell, etc.) but we're kidding ourselves if we think that compares to Kojima's works.

It needs better titles from big names. For example, make a Final Fantasy VR, or whatever. Right now, everything from first glance to me looks like a tech demo with titles I don't recognize and characters that I'm not familiar with. It needs that flagship title, like Nintendo debuted with Mario, or Sega with Sonic.

@nnn2004: lol wth kind of comment is that? That would be like you criticizing someone for hating music, and as punishment, saying you'll rip fart noises in the critic's face.

The Final Fantasy titles never link together, except for X to X-II, the numerous XIII's, and various VII's. If you're a newcomer, that's all you need to do. The story in XV is just as fresh for us as it is for my mother.

Assassin's Creed immediately popped into my mind. In fact, this whole article seemed like a middle finger to the Assassin's Creed franchise. There are only so many bails of hay you can jump into before you want to hang yourself.

@xcael: Which VR game are you referring to? Summer Lesson? First, the girl is definitely not a child, and second, what is wrong with being in a girl's room when the parent gives consent? Your character doesn't do anything to her. It's strictly a no-touching student-teacher relationship that extends no further than friendship scenarios. Even if you stick your head/vision into her chest, you'll just clip through her body and see nothing.

@miser_cz: I could understand that. For me, this game goes by fast because I love playing as an evil character.

@SovietsUnited: I disagree. This is the same art style that has been brought to games such as Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment, so we may as well call those games cartoony also.
