@Trickymaster The Wii outsold the Gamecube almost 5 to 1, I think Nintendo's decision was made FOR them in that regard. But I still think you might be right!The Wii really offered something no one had seen before, but it's hard to say whether that was because it really gave a rich, enduring experience, or if it was just a gimmicky fad.
The Wii U will be a good test of that. I don't think it will flop-- Nintendo has WAY too many loyal fans for that to happen-- but I'm not really expecting lightning to strike twice.
@Spartan_418 I happen to think he's right. It just seems unlikely that they'd go from introducing a new console to releasing it in less than six months' time.Most high-profile GAMES don't even do that.
@R2BDSi The 360 and PS3 are almost neck and neck. If Sony hadn't had such a disastrous launch, they'd probably be ahead. They may not have outsold the others guys this time around, but they managed to successfully turn the PS3 around and make it a success.Hopefully they learned something from that debacle, like not charging 600 bucks for a console, not telling costumers to "work harder" in response to the price, and not having creepy dolls as your marketing strategy.

Not too many marketing people are going to say "Well, to be honest, we really phoned it in this time! We're totally treading water with this one."
I don't the man was really complaining that games HAD violence. I think he sees the industry become TOO RELIANT on that. Which I agree with. Not because I think it will corrupt our youth or cause society to lose its moral compass. And I doubt that's what he meant either. More that there are OTHER ways to make fun games and tell stories, and that the industry isn't exploring them enough. And before you name a couple titles that buck this first-person-shooter trend, I'm not saying variety DOESN'T exist, I'm saying there needs to be more of it.
A) They're not sorry. They knew crap like this could happen, but didn't care. B) Gamers who just shelled out sixty bucks for this can't PLAY an apology. Make a game that works and actually belongs to the person who bought it!
I'm interested in this one, but it could go either way, I think. It could be great, or it could really suck. Like, I KNEW LittleBigPlanet 2 was going to be good! I was looking forward to that like crazy. I probably hadn't been that excited for a new game since GTA: Vice City when I was 19. So, I immediately went out and got that one purely on faith.With this one, if it's as fun as it has to be potential to be, I'll purchase a copy for sure. But I'm gonna have to wait and see before I buy it.
Well, I loved me some Skyrim, but I hate multiplayer, so I do believe I'll pass. Frankly, there are enough things in the world of The Elder Scrolls that are out to get me. The last thing that universe needs is thousands of brainless, teenage griefers lying in wait to ambush me while they spew forth misspelled racial slurs.
