I'd be for legalizing drugs... And the options given the current situation don't leave a lot of room for interpretation, IMHO.

Current - Drugs are illegal. Entire criminal organizations have sprouted around this, leading to excessive amounts of crime and murder. The money funneled into drugs makes cartels more powerful and wealthy; the money funneled into the war on drugs is flushed, more often than not resulting in lives lost on both sides to accomplish nothing. Drugs are unregulated, and unsafe, costing millions in lives and emergency room visits. Drugs are laced with chemicals you'd never willingly ingest, and needles are shared, spreading disease and death. Treatment is stigmatized, because you have to admit to doing something criminal to get help and, because of the "war on drugs", you're looked down upon for being a criminal 'junkie'. Tougher access to drugs doesn't mean harder to get, but rather harder to pay for, leading to a spike in drug related criminal activity to procure the funds for purchase, assuming they take that route instead of resorting to selling themselves for it.

Decriminalized - drug cartels go the way of the dodo. It's hard to run a criminal empire on something easy and cheap to obtain legally (corporate hate aside). Money from sales goes into businesses and taxes. Drugs are regulated, safer, and there is no stigma associated with purchasing them, and they're likely cheaper... Far so, in some cases. Clean, easily obtained needles lead to less disease. Treatment is easier to get, with the programs possibly even being paid for with the tax money generated from the drugs themselves, along with more money for education, similar to smoking / alcohol. Our drug habit isn't causing thousands of deaths in other countries (and our own). Prison populations go down. Way, way down. Law enforcement time and resources can be reallocated to other activities.

Problems that might still exist are obvious - petty theft to obtain it from stores, vehicular and related deaths from doing things you shouldn't during use, deaths related to overdose. However, these problems exist and will exist regardless. I don't know about everyone else, but to me the "War on drugs" has been one of the largest wastes of money and lives of the last half century.

I really like the blueprint animations.

Unfortunately I could never make a worthwhile guide for this, because it would consist entirely of "Shoot the legs".

So far, I'd say Destiny. After the beta, I still have some hopes for the release, but I can't say I see where all of the money is going, and this game is getting a level of hype like almost nothing I've ever seen before.

A lot of people say 'The Order', and I'm actually looking forward to that one. Maybe I don't pay that much attention, but while I see it advertised, I'm not sure I'd put it in the category of 'over-hyped' by any means. 'Over-hyped' to me means can't turn around without seeing it, and the game itself can't justify it. The Last of Us and the original Gears of War were like that, but I enjoyed them enough (and so did many others) that I feel like they justified it. The Halo collection coming out is another one that you won't be able to escape seeing for some time, and while the games were never really for me, they have a large enough fan base of those that did enjoy them to also justify it, IMO.

Time will tell for Destiny. From impressions I've read, I have the feeling it will live up to the hype for many, even if it ends up not being the game for me personally.

These are fairly heavily different games. Half-life (both of them) told the story more passively through the setting and situation itself; The Last of Us is a more directly told story of 2 people, where the setting is just something to couch that in.

They're both revolutionary, in their own rights. Half-life got me invested in the story in an FPS (which basically never happens), getting me to want to explore the world they created rather than just shoot the things in it. The Last of Us engaged me to the rest of the game by telling me a story so much more emotionally gripping than any other game I had played; I needed to know how their relationship and lives played out.

While I enjoyed The Last of Us more simply because that type of story appeals to me more (a la Mass Effect, KotOR), I wouldn't say I honestly thought either game was better than the other. They both go above and beyond in their particular sub-genres of gaming, and a direct comparison doesn't really work.

Well, this is sad.

Tom wasn't my favorite, but it did still enjoy his generally different take on games than my own.

Carolyn, while I usually didn't agree with her reviews, I enjoyed reading them. As your average, straight white male, I'm aware that I don't always understand or even think to look at things from another point of view, and it was always interesting getting a more personal look through Carolyn's eyes at these things. I know that thought offends a lot of the youngins around here, but I like forcing myself to think outside the box of my preconceived notions, and Carolyn's reviews were really the only source of that on a non-alternate lifestyle type gaming site.

I'm glad Kevin is still around. He is a large portion of why I still frequent the site, as I find his and my opinion of games frequently line up. On the one hand, I wish he were a little more forward with letting his personal perspective permeate his stuff on GS, but on the other hand, he is unfortunately smart not to. Look what Carolyn got for it throughout her time on the site.

I wish all who are departing GS the best in their future ventures.

Now for my bad person moment - I miss Feedbackula. The sites comments and forums have become such a cesspool that the user-shaming made my day. Most small villages know who the idiot is, and with so many people frequenting this site, it was nice to have them highlighted. :D
