Oh yay! Gamefly! The company that bought out Direct2Drive and subsequently broke every single game I ever bought from D2D by altering their .exe files. I had to purchase all but one of the games I originally bought from D2D due to Gamefly breaking them.

Of course, when I contacted them about this they lied first, claiming they didn't edit the executables. After I proved they did, they then lied and tried to claim that I was attempting to alter the executables. I told them if they were going to leave the games in a broken state and lie to me they could just give me a refund. Of course they refused. If I can ever find a lawyer to nail them for me I will. Gamefly can smoke a turd in purgatory.

Look. Just because someone doesn't love a game as much as you does not make them wrong. So wipe away your tears and pay attention. Short of MUDs, there are very few games which can be called actual RPGs. Using the excuse that video games aren't capable of something doesn't change the definition of a term. Period. That would be like saying a construction worker is someone who wears a frilly dress and sings because Li'l Orphan Annie wants to be a construction worker, but can't swing a hammer... so because she isn't capable of swinging that hammer she is still a construction worker just because she calls herself that. I can't make the point any more simple. I feel like I'm trying to explain the unified field theory to a duck here. If you can only follow one path no matter what, like Witcher, Skyrim, etc. do, then it is not an RPG. Grieve, get over it and get on with your life.
